fbirdmother Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I have a Firebird style Heritage in a blue finish. I know it's from the late 80's but I can't seem to find out much info about it otherwise. Anyone know how many were made, or what they're worth?

A serial #, back of the headstock, will give the year of manufacture.
FredZepp Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Welcome to the club.. here is the H357 in the 1989 catalog....
fbirdmother Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 no I'm here in the states, thanks for the info though. I'll post some pics when I get home later tonite. Any idea what they sell for? Never seen one in a store.

Never seen one in a store. You likely won't either. Only recently have they been made again on a special order basis only.... and from what I hear that may be coming to a close. What they cost.... no idea.
brentrocks Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Welcome to the HOC! If it is in mint condition with original case, it could be worth anywhere from $1500-$1900. Are you looking to sell?

I'm guessing they would sell for what someone would be willing to pay..What the market will bear, as it were..they are pretty rare, I know that much..Welcome to the cult..I mean Club..Many happy posts!!

Are you looking to sell? *whispered*Spectacular! What we are witnessing is the battle cry of Brenticus Heritagicus. This is wonderful specimen of the male of the species. He's spotted his prey. All he needs do now is sit... and wait.... quietly.
Thundersteel Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 They'd look better without that fugly pickguard covering up the switch routing....
Halowords Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 You likely won't either. I do not make guitars so it is not obvious to me, but what makes the 357 so difficult to make that they seem so reluctant to make them?

I saw a video where Marv said it's too much hassle to find wood that is long enough, figured enough, light enough, and so on for the 357's neck thru body. Note the the G-brand folks aren't in any hurry to offer Firebirds in transparent finishes; that should give you an idea of what the wood in their Birds (which sell for $1799 at GC) probably looks like.

Mine is on speculative future order (contingent upon economic conditions) to be delivered sometime in 2013 (approx)

Value is somewhere in the mid $1000's I would think if it was in tact and no breaks. As for seeing one in a store, they are not in the product line nor have they been in a while. Very seldem will you find a new Heritage hanging on a wall anywhere. Yours is a rare model just like the acoustic models Heritage used to produce....
