Mikenov Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 SO as much as it killed me to do it, I dropped off Goldie to have P-rails installed. They are going to put 2 push pull pots in. I will be able to have Neck single, hum, P90, Bridge Neck Single, and Hum, Bridge and Neck Single, bridge and neck hum , bridge and neck p90s. I just won't be able to have hum/p90 or hum, single, ect. I would need to start drilling holes in the guitar to do that. I didn't want to do anything that couldn't be undone. That being said, this guitar is going to be able to do a WHOLE lot. I can't wait. It will be gone a week so that is sort of a killer but I think it will be worth it.

We definitely are going to want a tone report on that.... :police: :police: :police: I'm with you on the Schallers though, don't like them and think they de value the H brand. I started a thread on that very subject some time back and we had quite a lively debate as I recall. ;D Good luck and make sure you let us know how you get on. I'd be particularly interested to know what sort of volume levels you get on the various settings as traditionally a coil tap on a "standard" humbucker reduces volume significantly :undecided:
Mikenov Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 I am eagerly waiting to give you a FULL report. This is killing me . I just got back from playing with some new guys and it as a GREAT jam. I really groove with the other singer/guitarist. I would have loved to have some P90s to help me cut through. I am especially curious about the difference from the shallers. I had never heards Schallers before and man I really did NOT like them. I remember your thread and read the whole thing. I didn't comment I don't think bc I didn't know what they sounded like. I had some stock Ibanez pickups I liked better. The schallers weren't totally low output but they were weak and not full. But the thing I didn't like the most was they just didn't sound good. bad tone. M guitar is a factory 2nd so I am a little concerned its the guitar but I think it sounded like pickups.
