SouthpawGuy Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Just found this on the Seymour Duncan website, seems to be old info. http://www.seymourdu...lders/heritage/ Someone may find the info useful.
fullonshred Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I was thinking my '86 H170Cm had Duncans, but don't remember for sure. Whatever they were they were noisier than I liked so I replaced them with EMGs. I still have the original pickups around here somewhere, maybe I will try to dig them out for a look-see. Not sure if they were marked anyway. I think the guy at the music store may have said they were Duncans. Of course that was 25 years ago so who knows. Thanks for the post SouthPawGuy. I had just been musing about this stuff last week.
DetroitBlues Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Orginal Heritages used Schallers.... Not sure when they went to Duncans....
SouthpawGuy Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 Orginal Heritages used Schallers.... Not sure when they went to Duncans.... I think they became an option sometime in the early to mid '00s and went to the standard equipment in the last few years ?
Kuz Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Yes, when Schaller's shipping and inventory became inconsistent, Heritage went to Ducans as their standard pups.
fullonshred Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I must have had Schaller's then. I do remember it was a brand I had heard of before. Appreciate the info guys.
barrymclark Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I must have had Schaller's then. I do remember it was a brand I had heard of before. Appreciate the info guys. Usually a quick and easy way to tell is if it had to adjustment screws per side.
SouthpawGuy Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 What's a "Little One"? A little known Heritage model known as the "Little One"
DetroitBlues Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 How dare you sir.... Just give him the "bird" and call it even.
SouthpawGuy Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 Ask Bird.... Quiet at the back of the class please .....
Kuz Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 How quickly these threads degenerate..... I know, you can't take these guys anywhere!!! And I have to room with Mr. Snuggles (Yoslate).....Arrgh!!!!
fullonshred Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Usually a quick and easy way to tell is if it had to adjustment screws per side. Mine has one adjustment screw per side, per humbucker pickup. I think I will go look for those old pickups just for fun. Apparently I have too much stuff because I have only a rough idea of where they may be. Of course, it was 25 years ago.
Trouble Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 How quickly these threads degenerate..... Yeah I should have known better than to ask.
fullonshred Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Hmmmmm...... for some reason I am unable to edit my previous post. I found the pickups. They have TWO screws per side, not one as I thought. They are indeed black Schaller's. They are idendified as Schaller made in germany, Neck, Bridge. As I recall they sounded ok tonewise but were way noisier than I liked. Is there a general board consensus on the older Schaller"s?
High Flying Bird Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I have always liked Schallers. My theory is that you start out with a clean tone and let the amp do the work for you. I also have liked the HRWs in my 535 and the Phat Cats in my Firebird. The Seth's in the 150 I used to own sounded good too. I never liked the muddy sound of the SD 59s.
High Flying Bird Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 How quickly these threads degenerate..... The sad part is that Rob used to be better than that. He has allowed himself to be pulled down to my level. He will be dipping snuff next.....
H Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 And I have to room with Mr. Snuggles (Yoslate).....Arrgh!!!! Mr SNUGGLES!?!? Yikes!
big bob Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 The Bird told me that Brent has a little one too! Not sure how he knows? I would imagine if you ask nice he would let you see it at psp. Heck he might even let you play with it!

Steiner Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I saw the Bird playing with Brent's Little One, it was gruesome! As I watched, it grew some more!
DetroitBlues Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I know, you can't take these guys anywhere!!! And I have to room with Mr. Snuggles (Yoslate).....Arrgh!!!! could be worse.... I went to a sales conference which everyone had to share rooms.... My co-worker got drunk ever night and would walk about the room naked because he thought he was at home....
