DetroitBlues Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I don't know where you or your son lives, but I'd sure like to visit a place that has beautiful guitars on every beach. Don't be offended, but those pictures are so nice, I'm saving a few for background photos!
tulk1 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Your son has an eye! Beautiful pics. ............ oh, nice guitars, too.
FredZepp Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Fantastic photos !! I really love the ones with the 535. But some of those with the Millie captured the top and finish in an extraordinary way... Thanks for the pics ... GREAT ..
Guest HRB853370 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I wouldnt set my guitars on a hard surface without a protective cloth at the least!!! Just looking at them made me nervous.
DavesNotHere Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Those are beautiful. Suitable for framing. I especially like the first one of the 535
bobmeyrick Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 The title of the thread reminded me of a guitar made by British luthier Martyn Booth I saw at an exhibition a couple of years ago, which can be seen here - http://www.martynboothguitars.co.uk/gallery/gallery_detail.asp?CatID=1&GuitarID=24
DetroitBlues Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Those are beautiful. Suitable for framing. I especially like the first one of the 535 The last pic is my favorite... Heritage should use some of these on their website!
LK155 Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Thanks for all the kind replies. The 'water' pictures were not taken at the beach, but on a walking path along Georgian Bay. Yes, we certainly have an impressive beach nearby (alleged to be the world's longest freshwater beach at 9 miles in length), but it's not in these pix. Didn't think sun/sand/people would have added much except potential trouble. Slammer: the guitars were in no danger. Most of the time, they were resting on a strap button or the back of a tuner or the very edge of the binding. For most of them, I was lurking about a foot out of frame, with arm outstretched, guarding against a stray gust of wind upsetting the balance. No instruments were harmed during this photographic session.
GASguy Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Gorgeous photographs, all of them are exceptional, but I especially enjoyed the last two photos, with the final photo as my overall favorite. Beautiful guitars as well. Thank you for sharing.
Thundersteel Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Looks like some of those photos need to be included in the 2012 HOC calendar.
DavesNotHere Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Looks like some of those photos need to be included in the 2012 HOC calendar. Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner!
mark555 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 fantastic guitars and fantastic pictures, thanks for posting, I really enjoyed seeing them.
schundog Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Beautiful shots, Lyle!! But wait, no 137?! Sigh, Cinderella gets overlooked for the ball, again. Haha
fxdx99 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Yup, that last one is really cool. Looks like it's been painted.

I love the photos, but always cringe when I see a guitar delicately balanced on its bottom straplock with surroundings that would damage the guitar if it accidentally fell. I get paranoid with just having mine on guitar stands when folks meander too close!!
