MartyGrass Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 From a fellow HOC brother. Sounds simply fantastic. The neck is slightly flatter than usual. Great set up from Elderly Instruments. Note the Imperial tuners! Should I put the PG on or not? There's no point in pondering this- I always do. http://s796.photobucket.com/albums/yy249/mgoetting/H150%20Goldtop%20P90s/
Kuz Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I thought you weren't buying anymore guitars..... looks like you got 3 lately.
skydog52 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 You've been busy Mark. Nice get. I've always like to see the wood grain but you are starting to change my mind about gold tops. Seems to be a certain sense of class with them. Congrats!
kbp810 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 There is just something about a gold top w/P90's that just knocks my socks off
MartyGrass Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 I thought you weren't buying anymore guitars..... looks like you got 3 lately. Two of them were trades and I got those a while back, before we messaged each other. Sold another and bought another, so it evened out.

DetroitBlues Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 No pickguards!!! You'll lose out on seeing that beautiful gold top if you do, plus you'll have to drill some holes in it! YIKES!
NoNameBand Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I personally like the cream pickguard in the gold tops.
FredZepp Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Nice one.......... a Kalamazoo beauty. Although I sometimes do a LP style without a pickguard, I'd probably end up putting one on that one. Vintage correct and all..
MartyGrass Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 The tuning pegs aren't quite vintage correct but they work fine. That makes me wonder what people will think about Heritage in 50 years. There are many permutations on every model, even the limited run of Little Ones.
DetroitBlues Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Unlike vehicle VIN's which identify almost every aspect of the car, serial numbers are only as good as the records the manufacture keeps. As for the pickguard, another idea if you really want to, would be something Gretsch does. They use a clear acrylic to make a pickguard that allows the finish below to be seen without the chance you'd harm it from playing. Of course the string height is so far from the guitar on their models, I doubt you'd strike it anyway.
FredZepp Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 The tuning pegs aren't quite vintage correct but they work fine. Yes, I thought about that after posting. Sometimes adding a pickguard makes the guitar look more familiar, like what you're used to seeing on that model. But that one could go either way and be good.
