Ya Know..I REALLY want that natural 150 that was sitting on the workbench the other day..Can I borrow your Debit Card? PLEASE?..I said PLEASE.. :icon_joker:

i hear ya, bro. my logic: the 137 is one guitar i don't need to buy now, freeing up resources for a new axe sooner, rather than later! be strong (or be "weak" if it will bring you joy). eljay

I got to see Bird's Bird in person... and it's even more striking 'live' than it is in pics. I keep trying to think of something to do different on it... but it's perfect as is. The 357RW model.

Ya know that one leg of being happy - something to want? Oh I got that. Got it bad. Pass that debit card my way when you're done with it, Scott.

I'm actually gassing for a gretsch or a heritage made to be "gretsch-like" more than anything else. still can't forget the sound of those TV jones pickups.

From the thread title I thought you were trying to compete with Ron's natural state. Butt, I see now you meant guitar gas. Whole 'nother subject.

After visiting the Heritage factory and seeing all the beauties at PSP, I feel the need to increase my Heritage holdings at some point in time. To say the least, it was a truly GAS encouraging experience.

I got to try out a couple of lefty Gretches and Alicia's last week - damn fine guitars, with great tone.

God, I'd love to have a 150 with exactly those appointments.

Get a weight relieved one!

Very tempting, however, my guess is that it's not a lefty?

There is a used green sparkle jet hanging out at street sounds in NYC. I'm still fighting the urge.

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this one in the polishing room! It actually looks better in the flesh. That's right.... And tbone, I just did some business with Street Sounds, and they were terrific! Deal with Rocky, all business, and very quick to return e-mails. Great transaction!

Gretsches are good stuff. Even their Electromatics are pretty good. The only REAL downside to them is that you can't get an American made one anymore. I think you can get it made in the US if you go Custom Shop... but I am not sure on that anymore. That was the case a couple of years ago.

Mine is an old American one from the late 60s that, since it was just wood, I made sure it was made of quality stuff from tip to tail. TV Jones Power'trons and all. Belden wire, CTS pots, Switchcraft, Sperzels and so on. Even dumped the mute and filled in the space where the mute and its control lever sat. haha. Man I hate those things.

The Japanese made Gretsch's are now top notch from all I've heard. The US Custom shop Gretsch guitars are REALLY expensive, and definitely more than I'm looking to spend.

With TV jones making pickups though, currently I'm thinking by best option is probably to get another guitar with the purpose of putting TV Jones pickups in it. the pickups though will run at least $260, or $300 after installation, so looking for a used Gretsch sparkle jet might be a better idea.

For now though I had a GAS weekend so no guitars for the rest of this years unless I sell 2.

I have a friend who has a Japanese Gretsch Country Gentleman ( I Think) AWESOME!! Great Action..Killer Pickups!! Plus it was only around $1500..Compare that to an American model..
