602a Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 After a long looking and deciding process I settled on a 2011 VSB. 9.5 with Seth Lovers. Will be here Wed. She looks pretty good in the pictures which usually means she's twice as nice in person.
tulk1 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Another classy instrument from the 'zoo. What's the "9.5"? Weight?
H Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That's nice I notice it has Kluson tuners on it - have Heritage switched out of Grover Rotamatics now or is that some kind of custom spec?

Just dont sell her to Mark, it would be like Pearly gates revisited. Talk to you soon! Guy
H555rocks Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That is one of my favorite looking h150's i'd have to say.
Gitfiddler Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Yep, that is definitely a KEEPER!!!!! Â Nice score, 602a!

H Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 They do that along with some other add on's for Jimmy Wallace Guitars. I've done the same thing with all my Heritages. Looks great.
MartyGrass Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Just got me a Jimmy Wallace with tulips today. Mine took a long road to arrive. Â Here's the headstock. Cell phone shot so it's not the best. Â Â Â Â Â
H Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Fender sandwich, complete with a couple of tulip headstocks  and a solo tulip headstock shot
NoNameBand Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Looks like a winner. Congratulations on your new VSB. My favorite color of the 150. The VSB's clearly sound better.
MartyGrass Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 They do sound better. The yellow center resonates with the high frequencies while the deep red has the bass covered. If you don't agree, you need to listen harder. Put your ear closer. Â The tulips don't suck the tone out of the headstock either. Â Â On a more serious note, I read Les Paul's biography over the weekend. He chose the first two finishes for the Gibson LPs. The first was gold just because it looks rich. Gibson told him they needed another choice also. He added black because it highlights hand movement when on stage. (Apparently Les Paul didn't anticipate customers "of color" back then.) Â Somehow the effects of the finish on the final amplified tone had not been discovered yet. When that discovery happened it was nothing but bursts, bursts, and bursts. Â Might as well throw out the opaque finished garbage. Â Â
NoNameBand Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Who was doing the talking and who was doing the listening? That 602a guy is a slick talker.
