DetroitBlues Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 DetroitBlues, you are not alone. I had this exact same problem on my H150, especially with the first string. The ball end usually ends up laying at an angle in the string insert (retainer). In fact, when I used to bend that string, there was a chance it would break at the ball end OR the roller saddle. The latter was solved by fitting Graph Tech saddles (recommended) and as regards he former, your tech is spot on, I'd say. I have used kitchen foil paper wrapped around the twist as a quick fix!! So far so good. Its been a week and the bridge and tailpiece have not broke a string. Then again, since I just mentioned it, who knows what will happen later.
DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Strings are still good, but on a different note, I received two sets of strings yesterday from Ernie Ball. I just sent them an email about my high e string problem and a week later, I have a couple new sets at my door step. Very cool, who ever said customer service isn't what it used to be?
