heritagefan7 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I know that I did this in a thread last night, but I can't find it now---what an idiot! BUT maybe a new thread is a better way to go. Idea is 1 that's been brought up before--DetroitBlues is putting it out 4 the Michigan area. If anyone's interested in a southeastern US periodic get together/jam, I believe I could get a place to do it. It's a hall that holds around 120 people. I'm in Greenville SC which is abt 1 1/2 hours from Charlotte NC....2 hrs from downtown Atlanta..& about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Asheville NC...Not sure about ALABAMA but lots of interstates around here for easy access. Anyway, if interested let me know here--OR if someone else has another idea, I'm all about working on it---schedules are tough and time is precious for sure--but we might could come up with something. We have fam/friends in ATL area too and could easily travel there depending on time/schedule.
heritagefan7 Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 BUMP--They're getting it going in Michigan--Any takers down here? It's a cheap date!
DetroitBlues Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I keep hearing crickets. Are my windows open or is it this forum? What a bummer!
Thundersteel Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I'm in the FL panhandle. I feel like a red-headed stepchild down here. It's Florida, yet Alabama at the same time. Sigh... Anyway, the closest HOCers to me are Big Bob and HF Bird--and they're still both about 5 hours away from me!
DavesNotHere Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I'm interested, but right now that's probably all I can be. The kids have already started back to school and the fall baseball, soccer, and swim teams are in full swing. And, I was able to swing a trip to PSP just a few weeks ago without the wifer and most of the kids. So, right now a roadtrip is out of the question.

(Gulf Shores, Destin, Perdido Key.....) Sigh....Best sand in the States.
High Flying Bird Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I may be up for it but I will need time to get my act together after going to PSP. I work straight time, no benefits. It's cool, Linda has insurance and like tomorrow, I can take off if I am willing not to get paid for it. Time to build up some scratch. We jam every weekend. We have a drummer and a base player. We also have a set of digital drums that does well in a pinch so we are mobile to an extent. (Ken found them in the trash and we have both done some work to them.) We are amateurs and it shows. Be warned. Location, location, location....

big bob Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I would be up for it.. Hotlanta is not far from me 4/5 hours, as is the handle of the pan. I could also meet up with folks around the daytona/flagler/space coast area..
Bulldog Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I'm in the Kalamazoo area and like this idea................... Detroit, I know it's too far of a drive for you.

schundog Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 The next time you're down here, look me up! Only if you give me a ride in that sweet Mustang, dude! We missed you in Kalamazoo this year.
heritagefan7 Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 Totally no time constraints or expectation here---just a fun thing to be able to do when we can. Playing and hanging out shouldn't be something else on somebody's plate to stress over---that's too much like work....We R in the south so winter travel might not be bad. ALSO, last thing we should do is conflict (time/money wise) w/ PSP...Just thinking it might be fun if we could swing it w/o much trouble. Maybe a January thing? Dead of winter--great time to get out of the burrow and so a little something....Thoughts??????

I am sure it would cost some cash right? I am located between Greenville and Alabama, and between Florida and Greenville. So why not have it at my house, full equipped rehearsal room in basement.
