schundog Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 So I must have missed this... Where did this come from, and what year is it? What years did Heritage make the Madolins? Oh, Crap, here comes the G.A.S.......
FredZepp Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 its very rough....but the basics are there http://www.reverbnat...ow/song_9988052 Ha... Freakin' amazing Brent. Way to rock that tune.!!! That was impressive...
tulk1 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 So I must have missed this... Where did this come from, and what year is it? What years did Heritage make the Madolins? Oh, Crap, here comes the G.A.S....... Word is Heritage made around 50 mandolins. So good luck with that GAS. Mine (an H40) is a 1990, so they had them for at least 5 yrs. But then, that's not uncommon for a mandolin maker to only put out 50 mandos in 5 yrs. They take a while to make. Far as we know, and we think we have this one down pretty well, Aaron Cowles, former Gibs/Heritage employee made the mandolins for Heritage. He's quite the luthier in his own right. The H50 is the prettier wood version of the H40 A-style mandolins. I've only seen 1 of the F-style Heritage mandos.
totonka Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 its very rough....but the basics are there http://www.reverbnat...ow/song_9988052 I'll be darned. Nice job Brent. That mando sounds amazing.

Especially since I really wouldn't know what to do with it, other than try some of the chords you posted.

I like when you go..." oh crap, take 2..." You're certainly picking up how to play the mandolin quickly, great job. Great tone.

totonka Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hey Brently: Here's another cool mandolin song from the mid-80s..... J/K (but it is sorta a mandolin song). Next time I see you (to pick up the mandolin you want to sell me), I want to hear you play this song, but dance like the bass player!

Genericmusic Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'm waiting for mandolin arrangements of Kiss songs.
tulk1 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I'm waiting for mandolin arrangements of Kiss songs. We do Sweet Child (Guns and Roses) on Mandolin. Is that close enough? And I'd imagine Brent could rock out I Want to Rock and Roll All Night easily enough.
