JohnCovach Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Another gig picture, this time from the first show with my new Asia tribute band, Heat of the Moment.
mark555 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 nice guitar John, thanks for posting, it does look spectacular - but for our benefit, is it "salmon or cherry?" !
brentrocks Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 How do you have time to breathe with all the projects you have going? GREAT PIC!!!!
big bob Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 It does seem like you play out every night! I'm so jealous!
donnie Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 nice guitar John, thanks for posting, it does look spectacular - but for our benefit, is it "salmon or cherry?" ! Heck I thought it was one of those "pank" ones that Wolfe had. Whatever it is, it's pretty!
tulk1 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 And yet another tribute project. How do you channel Howe so well when he isn't ......... well, in the channeling state? :-) Looking forward to clips of this band, too. Another of my fav bands that you just happen to tribute(ize?)
yoslate Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Good to see you check in, John. Great looking 535, and jeeze, I'm such a convert, now! Those are fabulous guitars; just love mine! Maybe a Heat clip, one of these days? And you're still teaching, too? Writing anything, currently, with all of that free time?
bolero Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 cool!! Steve Howe is a tough act to follow...I salute you!
DavesNotHere Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Do you have any songs you can post? I've liked Asia since the beginning. I don't recall every hearing anyone cover them before. And that is a sweet 535!
111518 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Great pic, John. Pretty cool to not only be the academic authority on Howe, but also to get to play his music in so many different bands/contexts. ...and then there's the classic red semi.
schundog Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Hey, that looks like my 535, only you covered up some of the "pretty" with a pickguard, haha. As cool as the guitar is, that shirt looks even cooler! Like everyone else, I'd love to hear clips.
JohnCovach Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 I'll see what I can do about clips soon. I don't think we got the best mix from the FOH guy last night. So few of these guys know how to mix harmony vocals effectively. And they often don't understand bands that have important keyboard parts, leaving the guitar too high in the mix. The mix sounded ok for live, but probably not good enough to circulate on the net.

But I fail to understand the context. ..............................
kbp810 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Great shot of a great guitar in action! Would still love to hear some sound clips
golferwave Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Great stuff John! Spreading the Heritage word one gig at a time!
