Jazzpunk Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Another interesting Heritage headstock: http://www.ebay.com/...=item256648c007 Did they do this at heritage or do you think it was after market? Looks kinda stumpy to me! (the headstock is in the second row of pics. Couldn't figure out how to link directly.)
H555rocks Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I agree, you just cant mess with the Heritage headstock.
FredZepp Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 We did see a hollowbody with a unique headstock a little while back... but I don't think that is was this one.... or was it?
SouthpawGuy Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I think we've seen this one, or one very similar, a few years ago. If I recall correctly the headstock was not done in factory. Might just be the particular photo but there doesn't seem to be a serial number on the back of the headstock.
Jazzpunk Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 We did see a hollowbody with a unique headstock a little while back... but I don't think that is was this one.... or was it? That we did! Different guitar but similar headstock design. The handy work of the same luthier perhaps?
donnie Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Is it my imagination or is the cut across the top asymmetrical? I'm thinking that might make me crazy if so...
Jazzpunk Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 Hmmmm..maybe it was the same guitar. Did a search but couldn't find the old thread.
DavesNotHere Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 There were more than a few interesting headstocks in the prototype room, but I don't remember seeing one like that. But , I didn't get a good shot of all the different shapes.
DetroitBlues Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I'm kind of curious as to why there isn't a pick of the sticker inside the f hole.
FredZepp Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I remember the one guitar with the odd headstock came with a blue print of it ... it looked like it might have been done by Heritage because of the paperwork with it... I just can't remember if that was the shape ..or not. He had a dealer receipt that mentioned the headstock, I think. They may have done this one... for a price. There is hopefully some paperwork with it.
NoNameBand Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Looks like another old Gibson headstock to me or even Epiphone. See the 1932 Epiphone Triumph Masterbuilt & 1932 Broadway archtops in the "Vintage Collection" in the right margin at http://www.epiphone.com/.
