DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 After a lot of wheeling and dealing, I walked into work this morning with this: And walked away with this: and this: What a great day!
DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 The are my personal favorite. Ever since I tried this guitar out some time ago, I've wanted it. Thanks to Brent, it became a dream come true! (Can't exactly tell why yet, so I'll leave everyone to guess!)
H Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 What sort of sound does it have? The bodies of the Heritage acoustics were made by Larrivee, weren't they?
DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 What sort of sound does it have? The bodies of the Heritage acoustics were made by Larrivee, weren't they? Its a mellow tone, but has bite to it when finger picking. It projects very well depending on your attack and is a very comfortable guitar to play. It is an A/E, just needs a preamp. It only has either a transducer ribbon in the saddle or a button right behind the bridge plate. I won't be able to see what it does until I get home.
pegleg32 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well done DB. Looks like you can rock both "in the barn" and "on the bridge" at PSP next year.
DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Well done DB. Looks like you can rock both "in the barn" and "on the bridge" at PSP next year. Absolutely!
koula901 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Congrats DB! A new baby in da house! Enjoy!
smurph1 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well done DB. Looks like you can rock both "in the barn" and "on the bridge" at PSP next year. +1000000
DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Congrats DB! A new baby in da house! Enjoy! Thank you! Of course my wife won't believe me when I say I got two for the price of one! BTW, Did you notice the computer monitor in the background?
skydog52 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Welcome to the Heritage acoustic club! Nice one. Can't wait for the back story.
FredZepp Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 So I'd have to guess that Brents HFT 450 is involved in this deal. ... It sounds like everyone will go home happy... and you grabbed a nice Heritage acoustic when all is done.. congrats. Nice one.
Steiner Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Success! See you at the bridge. Where's that confounded bridge?!
kbp810 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Success! See you at the bridge. Where's that confounded bridge?! I believe it is to the west of us, and will take about 11 months or so from now to get there Though I haven't officially taken delivery of it yet, I'm indeed planning on picking up Brent's 450 this weekend. I've been in love with that guitar since the day I first layed eyes on her back at PSP III; it's my white whale, so there was no way I could pass it up! Would have loved to of kept both, but needed to sell it to make it happen, and it's only fair to pass along the Heritage Acoustic goodness. Of course DB never gave anyone else a chance, about 10 seconds after I posted "PM Sent" in the for sale thread he was standing over my shoulder calling dibs on this one
brentrocks Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Ah yess the Heritage acoustics are plentiful as of lately....the 445s are great....heck, they are alll great! Congrats DB!!!!
DetroitBlues Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Thanks Brent! As you all know by now, I'm not afraid to touch my guitar or make drastic changes. I just happened to have a Red Tortise Shell Dove pickguard I was going to use on my Ibanez. It didn't look right on a black guitar so I saved it. Now I finally had a use for it! Be sure you're sitting down for this everyone! I'll have to wait for another sunset to take some better pictures, but this all I plan on doing... for the moment..
kbp810 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Phew! Good thing I was sitting down! That is, uhm, quite the pickgaurd indeed, oh my!
DetroitBlues Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 My wife told me to take that off and use something else. Bummer. Question is, what should I use? The original pattern seems a little hard to find. I thought about a Guild like pickguard...
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I thought KBP snagged it as he pm'd Brent about it right away. Or did he broker it for you in exchange for all the free PR you give him?

Or did he broker it for you in exchange for all the free PR you give him? I couldn't broker enough PR for a piece of bubble gum from him! I bet I can make a deal if I stop all the PR!
H Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Leave the pickguard on - it gives it a bit of a Hummingbird vibe.
DetroitBlues Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Its a dove pickguard, but it looks girly according to my little girly girl.
H Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Its a dove pickguard, but it looks girly according to my little girly girl. So get in touch with your feminine side
DetroitBlues Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 So get in touch with your feminine side I'm the one who put it on. But when my two femine influences both told me its too girly and to remove it, that takes your idea out.
