Dick Seacup Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I emailed them about that 170 a while back. IIRC, it's no longer available and they said they were going to update their site. Maybe it was a different one, though. Hrmmm...I'll have to go see if I still have the email....just checked, yeah, that's the one. :
golferwave Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Don't know if anyone else saw it but a 1990's H-150 in antique cherry sunburst sold on ebay a couple of days ago for $1,550.00! It didn't even have a Heritage case. It was being shipped in a Gbrand case. I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary about the guitar to make it bid up that high. Maybe with all of the uncertainty at the factory the market is reflecting the value of these guitars. It'll probably settle back down when production resumes.

wingnut1 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I just took a look on eBay and it looks like some of the prices sellers are asking for used Heritage guitars is more that what comparable used Gibson's are going for. Sellers are really trying to take advantage of the markets perception that something negative is going to happen to Heritage.
JohnCovach Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 That could be, but I've been keeping a pretty close eye on several guitars on ebay (and elsewhere) and I think prices are still pretty reasonable. In the last two weeks, two very nice 535's have gone for about $1100. You can't really touch a 335 for that. I just bought a 1989 575 for $1250, which is not too bad and much less than the cheapest 175. I'm not sure most buyers understand what a change at Heritage might do for prices in the future.
davesultra Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Here's the one I just picked up over at "flea"-bay. I'm beginning to believe that I got a fairly good deal? :- I truly don't know because after 17 years of playing (not very well I might add), I finally picked up a Heritage. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...%3D50%26fvi%3D1
slider313 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 WOW. That's a beautiful guitar !! Good luck with it. I like the color also. Not your average cherry sunburst or goldtop. That amber and the old style sunburst are my favorite.
slider313 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 And by the way, if you ever get tired of it, let me know !!!! ;D
JohnCovach Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Yep, I remember watching that one. Congrats--you definitely got a good deal and a great guitar!
Thundersteel Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I was watching that one too. That top is beautiful!
wingnut1 Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Really nice guitar Dave. It looks kind of like a Joe Perry Signature Boneyard.
davesultra Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Really nice guitar Dave. It looks kind of like a Joe Perry Signature Boneyard. That's exactly what I thought at first sight. Only this doesn't have that butt-ugly inlay thingy on the face of the headstock, not to mention that it was thousnads less!!

I had my eye on that one as well... Congrats on a real beauty!

One side of me is like: "Wow, they're really rising in value, COOL!" The other side is like: "You gotta be friggin kidding me."
PacerX Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Awsome guitar! I had my eye on that one as well... Congrats on a real beauty! Troof! It's B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!

One side of me is like: "Wow, they're really rising in value, COOL!" The other side is like: "You gotta be friggin kidding me." Well, value is not what you ask, it's what buyers will pay. I think I saw one of these posted for about $600 on a dealer page recently.
PacerX Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Well, value is not what you ask, it's what buyers will pay. I think I saw one of these posted for about $600 on a dealer page recently. That's true too... value being a personal judgement... And personally I can't see it having that much value, but it seems to mean that my H-150 is increasing in value since it's headstock is intact and it doesn't have any paint issues.
JohnCovach Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I do get the sense that all these guitars will be increasing in value. BTW, can you figure out what "paint foolishness" means in that ad? I'm not sure I've ever had a guitar that had any paint foolishness, or even headstock repair (though at least I know what that is). I did have a friend whose SG took a tumble straight down from the guitar stand, which cracked the neck pretty good.

But I am sure that any condition regarding bad paint coupled with a damaged headstock (that think obviously took quite a whack...) takes it well out of the range of $1000 if my checkbook is the one getting whipped out on to the counter. If the market will bear it, so be it. It just won't be bearing it from me.
Gitfiddler Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Hey guys, this my change tomorrow or next week, but there are a few REALLY sweet Heritages on FleaBay at the moment! http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?s...ntrypage=search
CrustHunter Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Now here is someone "jumping on the bandwagon" of Heritages problems! http://cgi.ebay.com/HERITAGE-Prospect_W0QQ...1QQcmdZViewItem

Can't wait for Heritage to get back on line and the prices on the used market to come back down to earth. Although there is a bargain or two out there if you look.
