barrymclark Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 http://www.kbpamplification.com/kbp_amplification/Welcome.html I gotta say seeing the BMC Starlite just gives me the giddies.
schundog Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I'll be very curious to hear what you two have cooked up on this one....
barrymclark Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 I'll be very curious to hear what you two have cooked up on this one....it was cool enough to get Brian on board pretty much at first presentation. This is a modified version of a classic many love but few know of.
barrymclark Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Why'd this get moved here? I'm not selling anything... I am having an amp made for me. To the best of my knowledge, I don't get a dime off this for any of these he sells in the future. I was just excited about getting mine and not pushing anything.
barrymclark Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 ...at least I haven't been informed if I a receiving any monies from sales of these. I am perfectly willing to accept cash tho!
barrymclark Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 WOW!!!!I know. Right!? I can't wait to do a demo vid of this. I had always hoped that my 'signature' amp would be just because I am awesome and my name will sell amps. haha. Not the case. haha. Instead, I just had a kick ass idea and a neato design for a personal amp that the builder may do something with. That's close enough for me.
tulk1 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Why'd this get moved here? Yeah, seems like it should be in the amp section. That's where you started it, right? Weird. So ... what's the amp?
H Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Your initials on a custom amp? What a ridiculous idea...
barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Your initials on a custom amp? What a ridiculous idea... Yeah... but this is a production amp. Anyone who gets the Starlite from KBP amps will carry the burden of my initials on their amp! (love the grill cloth on your amp by the way!)
tulk1 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 KBP Starlite! That part is obvious. What's the specs?
NoNameBand Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Very cool. Even better when Brian puts it there.
barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 That part is obvious. What's the specs? There are still some details, but it will be a 20w Class A amp powered by two 6L6's. Bypassable gain stage. BMT tone controls. Reverb.
barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Very cool. Even better when Brian puts it there. You know it. I am hoping he will have his new logo badge available to stick on the amp too!
212Mavguy Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 20w class A w/6l6's? Sounds like could be parallell single ended to me. GE blackplate or Syl 6bg6ga's with adaptors will sound better than any modern production 6l6, period.
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Is this a top secret project or something? C'mon just spill the darn beans. So you gonna pick it up or have it shipped?
barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Is this a top secret project or something? C'mon just spill the darn beans. So you gonna pick it up or have it shipped?not so much top secret but the details are still being worked out. 20w Class A with the circuit mods is about the only solid info outside of the 2 6L6's.
barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Oh, this all started when I was going to have Brian clone an amp. That amp was the Gibson BR-1. Then... it started to change. This amp is just going to be sick.
smurph1 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 http://www.kbpamplif...on/Welcome.html I gotta say seeing the BMC Starlite just gives me the giddies. Nice Job Barry..Very Jetsonsesque!!

barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Nice Job Barry..Very Jetsonsesque!! Wait til you see the rest of the amp.
barrymclark Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 The gain stage looks as though it may be EF86 based! ...which, for me, is AWESOME! Think old school Vox!
barrymclark Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 I wonder who's name is on this one? That's me too. Back when I did porn soundtrack work.
