602a Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I replaced the Caps in the new 150 I got from Jimmy Wallace that were .015"s and 200V. I upgraded to Russian .022 K4Oy-9 400V caps. It came with upgraded CTS 500 pots. I am changing all my Heritages and LP's to this combo. It really makes a difference in the sound and Volume and tone rolloff on these types of guitars. They are really smooth. Also changing to all Faber 59 model light weight locking bridges and tail pieces. They beat the heck out of tone pros
brentrocks Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 i have done the same thing to my 357, Skolnick, H 170 and the 20th #17....it makes a big difference! the pots and caps....not the hardware
602a Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 When I replaced the tonepros I sold you this guitar sustains unreal now. Even unplugged it rings alot longer. Light weights are not for every model though. Tried them on 535 and made no difference. I think it's just solid bodies. JMO
golferwave Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I use the CTS 500k pots, Sprague Bumblebee .022uF - 400v caps, and aluminum tailpieces on all of mine. I haven't tried the Faber bridges, I use the tonepros nashville style.
