Anyone know if Heritage has ever done a factory split coil model? I know there's always that debate about trying to be something that you're not, but if it could be done right, I'm sure kzoo would do it. (the Les Paul trad pro does this doesn't it?) Been thinking abt a strat--they are awesome and I'll prob go w/ that option, but iif kzoo does a split coil 150, I wanna try that first and add another H if I can.

VIP System, Double VIP System - they included coil splitting. My PSPIII Custom H535 w/HRWs has coil splitting for each pickup (toggle switches). And since they're a custom shop at heart, there have to be tons of H's out there with coil splitting. Thing is, it's just that - a split humbucker; which does not = single coil. You want single coil goodness, get a single coil pickup. Which, btw, H has done that as well. Along with mini-hums. So, options are there. But I'd still go with a Strat/Tele-ish to get true single coil tones.

I have a Double VIP 535 as well, It has taken me a while to figure out how and when to use it, but it is a nice option.

You can get some pretty swell twangy tones with the right set up.

My '86 VIP2 went back to the Heritage factory a couple of years ago to have the original VIP and pickups upgraded to D-VIP and HRWs.

It now has a three way mini switch for each pickup for humbucker, single coil and vari phase tones.

The middle mini is now set up as a kill switch B)

Very true! Though I did find that a split mini-humbucker gets pretty darn close.

OK, I tried ebay, gbase, yahoo & google w/ no luch looking for a 127. This video totally got me. Apparently this git is as rare as a they come. On a recent trip to Knoxville TN we stopped by a small music store that a friend told me a bt called the Music Outlet in Seviereville TN, just outside of Knoxville. They carry Gibbys, Fender, Taylor, Gretsch, and a few others---NO HERITAGE! I guess TN is Gibby country now. To make a long story short, they sell new 1st quality stuff at a reg discount of 40% off of list. I coundn't even find a better deal on somethng used on ebay! SO I reserved a Fender American Strat Deluxe yesterday. 2 be shipped Monday. TOTAL out the door including shipping was $1250. I'll try to post pics when she gets here. Rather have the H, but the strat seemed to play really well for the 20 mins or so that I played it.

The 127s are a rare beast, indeed. They didn't make very many of them. And they won't make anymore. That was the last word we got on them. Several of us approached the boys about making an H127 Forum Guitar. Shot down in it's inception. That was an interim model put out while the boys were in .... uh .... litigation with guess who! And out of respect for the original body style designer(s) they won't make us anymore of them. If you find one, snag it!
