teni Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I own this guitar (2nd hand), but I don't know witch model it is. Serial number is C16404 (1986) I didn't find it in the gallery, neither in google pictures. Can you help me?
H Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hi Teni, welcome to the HOC Remove the control plate behind the volume and tone knobs. There may be a sticker in there which gives model, colour and possibly pickup information.
tulk1 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 That's a STAT. Heritage's foray into the single coil super strats in the late '80s/early '90s. It was an interim guitar, body style offered to them by ... yep, just what it looks like ... while they were going thru certain legal actions. From all indications from STAT owners, they are awesome guitars. And it looks like you have an early VIP system for coil tapping/splitting and pickup selection. Plus, my fav of the two headstocks they used on this model. Cool guitar!! And welcome to the HOC.
chico Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 once described to me as a "*G* strat on steroids" here's the pawn shop beauty I once owned, sold it to a fellow HOC'r a couple years back. this one was salvaged from a KC pawn shop by a friend/guitar dealer here in Madison, Greg Ginter. I bought it from him. he said some reggae player owned it. yours looks to be in great shape, they only came in a few colors: cherry, cherryburst, antique burst, are the colors I remember. I have one of Heritage's Stat promotional cards in my collection too.. they are cool guitars, take good care of that one. mine was a "C" too. welcome to HOC by the way!
