SouthpawGuy Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Looks more like an H-150P than an H-140 ?
Hfan Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I was going to say looks like a 150 but the dot markers confused me more than my normal state of confusion. Do the poplars have dots? Either way good price me thinks.
TalismanRich Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 The 150Ps and 150 Specials usually have dot markers. I've seen several listed lately that say 140s but are really the 150P or 150 Special. It's way to early to be a Version 2 H140.
chico Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 and, they are *still* making them there, he wrote it as past tense
pressure Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I have a 150p that looks exactly like this one. The person I bought it from said it was a 140.
dbetts41 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 The new 140's have the 150 body with dot markers... that guy probably went to the heritage website and picked the model that looks the closest to his. That is a 150P... I have seen those sold as low as $650
cod65 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Isnt it odd for the back of the neck to be painted ? Or is that common ? could it be hiding a crack ? y2kc - I used to live in Wilmette, near the curling rink. Went to New Trier (East) for 1 yr in 1981.
CJTopes Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Isnt it odd for the back of the neck to be painted ? Or is that common ? could it be hiding a crack ? I figured it was a 150P because of the dots but the painted neck and the back of the body looks odd. Did they do that on the 150P's or is that refinished?
SouthpawGuy Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 There have been a few all gold 150 / 140s owned by HOC members. Here's a '97 140 from the gallery a '92 150P and a '97 150P
pressure Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 That 140 on the green grass is not a 140 it's a 150p. I listed it as a 140 because thats what the seller said it was when I bought it. But on further examination I found out it is a 150p. The all gold finish is original. When I showed this guitar to Marv at PSP3, he knew right away that it was a 150p. So I'm guessing they did a run of all gold 150p's.
