DavesNotHere Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Well UPS didn't show up until almost 19:00 today. It had been marked out for delivery since 05:30 this morning. It was a long day of watching the UPS tracker. Anyway, it's a 1988 H-162. It is in unbelievable condition for a twenty three year old guitar. I've seen guitars in worse condition called near mint. The seller was very conservative in his description and I am more than pleased. There are just a few very minor dings in the body, and a barely noticeable ding in the “put your eye out” headstock. The neck is straight and clean. Everything works perfectly. I'll post a tone report once the new strings settle in. I'll have to ask The Bird to take some better pictures. But here are a few of my crappy ones.
FredZepp Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 How Cool .....! A Heritage Superstrat with a maple board... nice one...that one should rock.
fxdx99 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 There's one you don't see very often. Congrats - that's a cool looking guitar. And I don't think I've every seen a maple neck Heritage! Doubly cool!
High Flying Bird Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Lord have mercy boy...... you are going to put an eye out for sure.
DetroitBlues Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 That's the biggest control cavity I've ever seen! You could do all sorts of crazy stuff in there!
koula901 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Lord have mercy boy...... you are going to put an eye out for sure. yeah, Bird -- better not drink at rehearsal anymore!
koula901 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 A white stinger too! Break out the spandex! LMAO!!
koula901 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Congrats Dave!!! That guitar has some cool mojo. The shade of white/or creme colo gives it that retro look. Enjoy your rare find! Like the pearl inlay dots! That seems unusual, too.
DavesNotHere Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 That's the biggest control cavity I've ever seen! You could do all sorts of crazy stuff in there! I dated a girl like that once....
DavesNotHere Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 Thanks for the kind words. I know Ron will be giving me grief about another pointy guitar, but now I have something I can use for self defence, and I'm definitely getting spandex and a perm.
DavesNotHere Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 Nice one ! Kahler Floyd Rose ? Thanks. Kahler on this one. But the Spyder was licensed from Floyd Rose. My Parsons Street came with a Floyd Rose and I swapped it out for a Kahler because that's what the Heritage catalog said they came with in '88. But then I talked to Ren and he said they did make some with Floyd Rose, so I now think the FR was original becuse it does fit better on the posts, but the Kahler looks better.
mark555 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 looks good and no doubt sounds excellent - congrats.
