Tallershadows Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I am starting this with great trepidation as I don't want to spread any false rumors, but I was talking to the owner of Adirondack Guitars. He told me he thought Heritage was out of business stating his inability to contact them for months and lack of incoming stock. I called Wolfe guitars, who were not aware of anything like this, stating they are currently receiving stock from Heritage. I have tried to call Heritage a couple of times in the last 2 dasy without success. Has anyone heard likewise? Please understand, this is what I was told my one dealer without any corraboration thus far. Just want my fears laid to rest.
Guest HRB853370 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I think its total BS. I have a friend who is having a guitar built now. He just spoke to Heritage yesterday.
FredZepp Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 If you need to call them... call them in the morning. It seems like there are a lot of orders flying out of Parsons Street and they aren't always vigilant about watching the phones or emails. We seem to see a post asking this about every 6 months or so... all is well at Parsons Street and they are busy... ( As the largest dealer, Wolfe Guitars certainly helps keep them busy. )
Tallershadows Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Good. I think my fears are laid to rest. I'll call them in the morning just to make sure... Not sure where the owner from Adirondack Guitars is coming from.
Spectrum13 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I think its total BS. I have a friend who is having a guitar built now. He just spoke to Heritage yesterday. +1 what Slammer says. They are building guitars. Just not flat tops and mandos and banjos.
skydog52 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I was at 225 Parsons St. on Monday taking one in for repair, long story and my fault. Also ordering a Millennium Ultra Standard going over specs with Marv. The shop was humming and everyone busy. They need more orders but are doing well considering the current business climate. How many times do we hear that these days? I for one am sick of hearing it! We need to get this country working again. Fred is right, I saw quite a few guitars in finishing stages that had Wolfe tags on them
barrymclark Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Ah, is it this time of year again? haha. Countdown to the headstock thread!
Gitfiddler Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Ah, is it this time of year again? haha. Countdown to the headstock thread! Pssst...I heard that the fire that they had 4 years ago was actually caused by a heated headstock debate between Marv and Ren. They actually used some neck blanks as faux swords and one of them got too close to a fast-moving sanding belt, causing a friction fire. The end result was a total shut down of the factory for months. This has to be true...since you are reading it on the internet!
SouthpawGuy Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Ah, is it this time of year again? haha. Countdown to the headstock thread! There ya' go. That should tick all the boxes. Lefty and semi pointy. Ha !!! ------------------------------------- edit: btw that was my 4000th post. It's good to keep stirrin' the pot !

The only thing I have heard about Adirondack Guitars are from several dissatisfied customers. Maybe Heritage doesen't want to talk to them.
Tallershadows Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 Clearly Adirondack Guitars was mistaken or mislead. I called them because their website had a H150 Ultra for sale (which they did not have in stock). I don't think I'll be calling them again. Just wanted to make sure that my favorite guitar company wasn't in trouble.

And I heard the shop is closed to prepare for the unveiling of the new headstock design. As has already been said there is no BS on the internet.
MartyGrass Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 It must be annoying to the Heritage folks to keep responding to rumors that they are out of business. What feeds these rumors is that email correspondence isn't the quickest (understatement). Also, they are closed at 3:30PM and on Friday. Lastly, they are a small producer, and every expects the small companies to fold. I haven't had any signals that they are planning to pack it in. They continue to do some of their best work.
Guest HRB853370 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Lets hope they continue The Heritage for generations to come!
t0aj15 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 The sky is falling............................again.
Hfan Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 It must be annoying to the Heritage folks to keep responding to rumors that they are out of business. Especially when the rumors may be generated by one of their dealers.
Bulldog Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Rumors! Once again, it must be hunting season.....

From personal experience, I have found that Adirondack is one of those companies that continue to show guitars that they no longer have in stock and use them as bait to stimulate interest for their store. Ask them what Heritages they actually have in stock ready for delivery. The H-150CM Ultra is no longer in the catalog, but you could get a nice H-157 or spec out a custom H-150 any way you want it. I was at Heritage about ten days ago and just about everywhere I looked there were guitars in racks.
duaneallen Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This seems to be a problem with some other Heritage dealers as well. I called Eddie's Guitars a few weeks ago about a Heritage and the guy on the phone basically trashed Heritage saying that they're build quality has really dropped and that Heritage is a nightmare to deal with. I told him that was odd, because I recently got a newer 150, and mine's fantastic! I then told him that I would look elsewhere when looking for a Heritage. I really don't want to do business with a dealer if they are going to trash Heritage. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Maybe he has a load of Gibbo's he has to move?
sakis26 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Can someone start rumors about Gibson running out of bussines?Or Fender?Or any other big name?I dont think so.....Rumors are not triggered by accident i mean ''not answering emails''?''only by phone''?.Heritage is a big name company and lets be honest after 26 (!) years they could have a better advertisement and they could be more easy to reach anytime by email or phone (not everyone lives in Kzoo to go to Parsons street and give an order for an instrument).Yes they're making some of the best handcrafted instruments today but sorry thats not an excuse for someone who is 26 years in the bussines.Try to send an email to Bill Comins or Steve Andersen or Ted Megas NOT PHONE them just a simple email with a couple of questions and you will receive an answer in 1 or 2 days the latest (and they are VERY busy too by building handcrafted instruments) and they are 1 man shops!!!!I LOVE Heritage guitars but the truth its always the truth....
