heritagefan7 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 OK, I know it's the perfect guitar, but I can't ever seem to find time for my 555!--How nuts is that? ---Since I got the new strat, I play it alot b/c as my friend says it's "fast and easy." --The LP sits in the stand so it gets grabbed on a whim --The (awseome) 574 is my old school Blues box--which is like a family member I know the 555/535 is like the perfect all around git---So what's wrong w/ me that i'm not always reaching for it?...Anybody else ever run into this?--just not enough time?--is it a phase?---Is it too NICE & I don't wanna mess it up/scratch it? (trans black w/ Gold hware) LOVE to look at it--sound absolutely AMAZING...but don't just atomatically reach for it in the few mins I have to play in the day--is it trade time????
pietro Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I recently got my first Heritage since owning a couple in the late 90s early 00s, and it gets all my playing time even though I own other guitars as good or better. Just give it time... it'll all balance out...

Don't fret there are others worse off (or better off depending on how you look at it). There are a couple members on the HOC that have more than 75 guitars. So how do they play all of those? I am in your situation. I have a 555 that I absolutely adore-HRW's, ASB, its beautiful. It sits on my guitar stand in my room so I do not ignore it. But sometimes I go a week without touching it, for the same reasons you have, easy to grab a Strat, or an SG or whatever. This is why I do not need more than 15 guitars in my arsenal. Make some time for her- she will reward you with her attributes.

In addition to Earthshaking Music, you need to go to Atlanta Discount Music also, they are a Heritage dealer too and they have lots of high end gear, both new and used.
bolero Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 different guitars inspire me to play different music, and even play differently on each one because of their quirks keeps things interesting funny: the only guitar I had for a LONG time was a strat...now I have one G&L Legacy and a few Heritages. maybe I got sick of the strat soundscape, I hardly even pick that G&L up...I think it's because with a Heritage into a cranked amp gets you THAT SOUND, whereas with a strat you usually need a fuzz or pedal of some sort can't beat the cleans on a strat style gtr though...wind cries mary!!
pietro Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 maybe I got sick of the strat soundscape... I sure did. I sold my only "strat"-ish guitar a few months back and totally don't even miss it. everything is 2-hums now (some very split-able).

There is a good side to your situation. After you don't touch your stowed away guitar for a lengthy period of time, when you finally do get around to it, it will be like a new guitar day without the cash expenditure. Happens to me all the time.

My collection includes 2 acoustics: An old Lauren acoustic ($100 w/ case!)...a Martin D16...and 4 elecs--H555, H574, '91 LP studio w/ a neck repair, and a 2011 Amer Strat Deluxe---a diverse but loveable group!...75 gits?---WOW! That's like a mini GC! I can't play what I've got!!!!
