MartyGrass Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 2007 with Seth Lovers and no pickguard. RhoadsScholar did not rave about the top, so I had low expectations. I'm very impressed though. I find it elegant. So I had to shows some pics. These were taken with and without a flash on a workbench. They're not glam shots, but you can see the grain and flame. Oh, and it has a one piece back.
FredZepp Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 That is a sweet top .. the Seths insure a great tone, I would think. Nice one to grab. Cool flame.
hinesarchtop Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 The top is beautiful. Very unique. Let's see the one piece back. Can you hear a difference from a 2 piece? Hahaha.........Strike up the dead dog of a debate one more time!
H Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 That's a nice one, Mark, welcome back to the VSB 150 club
eljay Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 what mars said. that is most kool! not a typical vsb, but gorgeous nevertheless.
DetroitBlues Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Wow, very nice. Love that top! Congrats.
Gitfiddler Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Elegant indeed!!!!!!! Congrats to both seller and buyer.
MartyGrass Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 Tuned it and plugged it in. The guitar sounded bright for Seths. Then I noticed the pups are raised quite close to the strings. The articulation and clarity is much better with some decline in warmth. It sounds hotter. Thought I'd share.
koula901 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Congrats!! Are those mini buckers? Looking forward to sound report ; )
MartyGrass Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 They are Seths. The guitar is brighter than I expected, a little whisper of P90 maybe. That's probably due to the raised pups. I checked the pots and caps. Nothing special there.
vbf Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Congratulations!!! I'm pretty happy with mine too.
heritagefan7 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 You are on a roll!!!! Congrats on all the new additions! This is beautiful!
golferwave Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Certainly a real beauty...and the price was incredible. Enjoy!
