gary0313 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Got a call Tuesday from my dealer that my 535 shipped from the factory on Monday. Should be picking it up soon. Apparently something got fouled up with the order and they made the guitar in the wrong color. Someone caught the mistake in shipping and they had to build a new one, hence the more than 6 month wait. I guess I'll finally be a real HOC member now. I think I was more excited about this 6 months ago, but that could all change once its here. I was injured while playing with my dog 3 years ago and now I'm having knee replacement surgery next month. Going to be laid up for awhile, but at least I'll have new Heritage to play!
skydog52 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Congrats gary. Anticipation is great! Don't forget the pics when you receive the beauty.
hinesarchtop Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I get excited when my friends have a guitar coming. I've waited 2 years for a heritage that never happened and had to switch the order to a different guitar. I ordered an HFT 485 and they were always going to make it and never did, so I switched to a tap tuned top and back Super with ultra woods in ALSB finish. That one took 12 months. I actuall like the anticipation, but that time stretched it to the limit. I hope you really enjoy your new guitar
JimWhite Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I got my 535 (my first Heritage) less than two months ago. Believe me, your excitement will return when you first play your 535. Jim W
FredZepp Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Whew.. it is tough to have that kind of wait time... but a New Heritage Day makes it all worthwhile. Enjoy and give us a report when it's in hand. ( and good luck with the surgery )
H Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Good news on the guitar, hope your surgery is over and done with quickly. You were always a full HOC member. This forum is about the appreciation and discussion of Heritage's finely crafted product, not necessarily the actual ownership of one. You have the bug - the only question now is how long until the next one?
TalismanRich Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Good luck with the surgery. Remember, there's nothing better than laying back in the lazy-boy, with a Heritage resting comfortably on your tummy!
Guest HRB853370 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hard to believe they made it in the wrong color but the shop is run by human beings, so sh** happens! Glad you got the right one coming, good luck with the surgery, and enjoy your new Heritage. And welcome to our society!
DavesNotHere Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 That's a long wait. What did you order, and what did they build? Maybe you would have liked it better? And more importantly there is a custom 535 languishing in Kzoo with out a home! I offer my services as a foster home for said 535. I'll keep it warm and well played. Not played well, but played a lot! And I wish you well with your surgery. You won't be laid up long. My Mom had knee replacement surgery a couple of years ago and they had her up and around the next day and she was 75.
