arnissart Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Anyway, I keep giving you information to know more about this guitar but, in the doubt, I'm gonna walk away. Too many questions to take the chance...
Blunote Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Hi everybody, The plate controls is engraved with "H150 Ultra" About the rest, here are the explanations of the seller : - The "Made in Kalamazoo" inscription was just a stamp and, after having polish the neck "with a polishing machine) for a "second youht" it had disappeared ; - The guitar was made in 2003, 19th day of the year, 5th guitar of the day (that would mean that serial is "T34605" if I don't make a mistake) ; He also says to me that it has never been repaired or "refin" and that it comes with the original Heritage case. I'm still confused, I must say... The guitar in the pictures IS NOT an H150 Ultra. This is an H150 Ultra You'll notice the ultra has a wood pic guard, the back is scarfed (belly cut), the body is multi bound and the headstock is single bound. Past versions of the H-150 ultra often had a maple veneered headstock. The guitar in your photos has none of that.
Blunote Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Here's what a 2010 H150 Ultra headstock looks like.
Blunote Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 There are times I wish the HOC provided a delete button and this is one of them. I have an H-150 Ultra Deluxe. I think there is also an H-150 Ultra or Ultra CM that is for all intents and purposes, a standard H-150CM with an upgraded top. If so, then the one in arnisart's photos could be and H-150 Ultra. Whether genuine or not, it is a beautiful looking guitar.
tbonesullivan Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Got any pictures of the Label? What may have happened is that the serial number rubbed off. They are stamped on over the finish, and they are not very thick at all, and one of mine has a partially rubbed off "oo" on the end of Kalamazoo. If someone took swirl remover or mirror glaze to the back of the headstock, it would come off easily. Then they may have put the serial number back using a sharpie or something like that. As for the lacquer job, it's got the standard "sinking in" to the pores you'd expect on a nitro finished guitar of that age. This definitely does not look like one of the fake heritages from Korea. Regarding the "ultra" designation, that seems to have changed from year to year, just like "classic" or Deluxe. It could also be a custom order with upgraded something so they decided to call it "ultra".

One of the confusions of a custom order shop...There can be 200 different versions of the same model depending on how it was ordered.
