Clump Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I traded a Japanese LP + some cash for a 2005 Trans-Black H535. I think I did the right thing! What a great guitar, I love everything about it. I need to find a way to get the grain to show in pics, she a real beauty. The label inside says "Heritage Custom Shop". I called Heritage, but all they could really tell me is the year and that the color was an upcharge. Does the color make it custom shop? The pups are Schallers according to the guy I got it from.
Gitfiddler Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Black n Beautiful! Nice score, Clump...and Welcome to the HOC!!
GASguy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Welcome to the HOC. I love my 535s and all my Heritage guitars; I think you did well on your deal. That is one sharp looking guitar you have there!
blueox Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 You did good with that deal, getting you into the Heritage game. Now you've got a guitar that would even make B.B. proud. Welcome to the club!
heritagefan7 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Welcome---nice git! Hope you really enjoy it.
Hfan Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Welcome and congrats. I like transblack and the cream colored binding on yours is really nice with the t black. You got a great deal.
JeffB Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Welcome to the HOC. Thats a real nice looking 535.
schundog Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Welcome to the HOC! My first Heritage was my 535, and I almost got a trans-black one like yours, used, at my local Guitar Center about a year ago. I even put it on layaway, but, in the end, I decided it wasn't for me, and let the group here know about it. My buddy Millenium Maestro in Vegas ended up buying it online from my GC, and couldn't be happier! The Schallers are fine, that's what my 535 had in it when I bought it, and I left them in for over a year before I had them switched out to Seymour Duncan Antiquities, and, to me, it made a dramatic improvement for the better! Seth Lovers are another very popular choice. Just food for thought for what some others have done to theirs. Either way, you've got a GREAT guitar made by a great company and group of people at Heritage. Enjoy!
Clump Posted December 4, 2011 Author Posted December 4, 2011 Thanks everybody! I love this guitar and the pups sound great. The tinkerer in me is intrigued with possible upgrades, but I'm resisting....so far!
Gitfiddler Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Hey Clump, as another Ibanez fan, which one of their gits did you trade for the 535? My last ones were AR2000 and AR3000's. I miss em.
mark555 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hi Clump and welcome - all Heritage guitars are "custom shop", no mass production by the guys at Parsons Street. My 555 had Schallers in when I got it but I swapped them out for Seymour 59's.
Clump Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Hey Clump, as another Ibanez fan, which one of their gits did you trade for the 535? My last ones were AR2000 and AR3000's. I miss em. Actually it was an Edwards 130 Les Paul. I had the Edwards about a year and bought a Joe Bonamassa Studio that quickly became my "go to" LP. My JB is 1 of those magical guitars that is just perfect for me. So, when I got a chance to trade for the H535 it was easy.
