hokenfloken Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Greetings! I recently purchased a Heritage H-140. It seems to me that the body is considerably smaller than that of a Les Paul. Is this correct or am I just imagining things. I haven't played a Les Paul in years. I love the body shape, by the way. Way better than a Les Paul.
Hfan Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 The 140 is thinner than the LP Heritage equivalent 150 or 157 if that is any help.
DetroitBlues Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 The 140's upper bout is slightly narrower, the body is considerably thinner. The 150 is more like a "normal" Les Paul. Welcome to the HOC and fellow 140 owner! By the way..... Here's mine!
brentrocks Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 140s have the best of both worlds... slimmer, lighter construction and killer tone! i have had a few over the years and all of them have been great guitars.
big bob Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Love mine, definitely smaller than a les paul. Tone for days.
smurph1 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 i had an '85 and totally LOVED it until..Well you know the story..sniff sniff..bwaaaa
smurph1 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Love mine, definitely smaller than a les paul. Tone for days. Man..What is that bridge PU? Looks like a Filtertron or something..
big bob Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Man..What is that bridge PU? Looks like a Filtertron or something.. It's a rio-grande crunch box.
smurph1 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 It's a rio-grande crunch box. Wow..Never heard of it..How's it compare with say a stock H pickup, like a Schaller or a Seth?
DetroitBlues Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 i had an '85 and totally LOVED it until..Well you know the story..sniff sniff..bwaaaa Thanks Smurph! What a bummer letting that one go.
hinesarchtop Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 The 150's are 13" wide and 1 3/4" deep the 140's are 12 1/2 wide and 1 1/2 deep. There's one for sale locally but the guys off in lala land.
kbp810 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 i had an '85 and totally LOVED it until..Well you know the story..sniff sniff..bwaaaa I know the feeling
big bob Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Wow..Never heard of it..How's it compare with say a stock H pickup, like a Schaller or a Seth? Way hotter, it's wound to 16K, splits nice With 12 Mega-Polepieces for fine tuning string balance, this pickup redefines pure power, destruction, & has a flatout "Take No Prisoners" attitude. Remember, if you can't budge it, get a bigger hammer! Recommended for bridge position. 4-conductor cable.
DetroitBlues Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I know the feeling Helped pay for a 157 Custom if I remember right....
TalismanRich Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I might as well throw in my bit of "140" love. An oldie but a goodie!
hokenfloken Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 Here's the picture of mine. It's been posted to this forum already but here it is... It seems to me that it's much easier to get to the upper frets on the 140 than it is on a Les Paul. This guitar is just perfect.
DetroitBlues Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That's a stock photo! Hoping you post one of your own...
SouthpawGuy Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That's a stock photo! Hoping you post one of your own... You nitpicker you. I do agree though.
DetroitBlues Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Then again we all don't have an amauter photographer like Mrs. KBP to take pictures of our gear...
