DetroitBlues Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I used to have a Fender Superchamp XD. There's been a lot of question, doubt, debate, concern, or what not about solid state, hybrid, or modeling amps. This is a demo of my old Fender Deluxe Roadhouse/Lonestar Strat straight into a Fender Superchamp XD running into a 1x12 extension cab KBP made for me being recording on a Blue Snowball USB Microphone through Audacity. My point is not to dismiss any of these tools as not good enough because I really think all of them work quite well. All of the effects were on board effects, the first track is called Opus Trem-Delay, it was recorded using the Delay on the amp and the tremolo of the vintage style system on the strat. http://www.box.com/s/bcrya0hup66y92pj01ip http://www.box.com/s/iq6o7s9k6pcm5xp0yvp6 http://www.box.com/s/un048q7q1lk8dzputgnk
DetroitBlues Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 In case anyone is in the market, I've seen two of these recently on Craigslist for $150 and $175. Not bad really...
schundog Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I think they might be discontinuing this great little amp. $199 on Musicians Friend, and ibdont see it on Femders site anymore.
DetroitBlues Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 I hope they replace it with something just as good!
koula901 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 wonder why it's being d/c'd. seems like a popular little amp.

Wow, I really hope not! I've had a ton of amps in the four short years I've been playing, and the XD was the best all around practice amp I ever had. I truly regret getting rid of it. Light, easy to deal with, very good sound, and in general a lot of fun to play.
HanknotFrank Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I also have a SCXD and I put a ragin cajun in it and not only does it sound great but when picking it up it is easy to feel the extra weight of the larger magnet...................I may be old but I'm slow,,,,,,,
DetroitBlues Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 I heard the Ragin Cajun was the only mod necessary for that amp....at least according to Bill M. of BillM Mods...
schundog Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Well, it's confirmed, the SCXD is being discontinued, but will live on as a Super Champ X2. Tap Tempo delay, USB connectivity, Fuse software capable, built in Ensenada, not China, and available as a combo OR Head and Cab. https://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=2223000000 http://www.fender.com/products/index.php?section=guitaramplifiers&series=Vintage+Modified+Series Having said that, I was going to suggest that if the old model would suit your needs, they are a steal at MF for $199, but upon checking, they are no longer available there. Incidentally, neither is THIS model available yet, but I'm sure will be soon.
DetroitBlues Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 I just saw an older one on local CL for $150. Looks brand new. I'd be interesting in seeing more about the new one, but the thought of all those computer peices being tied into the amp concerns me....
DetroitBlues Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Found this guy on youtube. He's using a stock Squire Classic Vibe Strat and just the SCXD...
