yavuz Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I have a Heritage 575 with the serial R10905 which tells me that it was made in 2001 and it was the 19th of April. It has one pickup only and it sounds fantastic. It also sounds very different than any pickup I heard. I am attaching some pictures to see if anyone can identify these pickups. They sound very different....
kbp810 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 With two screws on each side, it would most likely be a Schaller, or an HRW - next time your due for a new set of strings, pop it out and take a peek
barrymclark Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Agree with KBP810. Does the toggle switch tip have a dot on the top? That is usually the best indicator or HRWs without lifting the pickups.
yavuz Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Toggle switch? I don't think my 575 has one. It has a single pickup. If it is HRW, I am glad since I really like the sound oh this pickup and I have a Millie ultra std on order with a single HRW. If it is Schaller, then I do not know how close the sound will be. Is it still possible to get these Schallers?
barrymclark Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Ah. Ok. Sorry. Forgot yours had a single pickup. Yeah, you will have lift it at string change. You can still get Schaller pickups.
SouthpawGuy Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 If it's high output there's a good chance it's a HRW. I have two Heritages with HRWs and on both they are plenty loud with the top of the pickup flush with the pickup mounting ring. Other Heritages with SD '59s or Seth Lovers have the pickup adjusted with the top above the mounting ring and have less volume than the HRWs.
