smurph1 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Hey Folks, Brian and I have been working on several names for my new Voxish Reverb KBP amp..I'd like to give you the three that we are considering,,Please remember this is an amp that George Harrison would have loved..and used on stage with those guys from Liverpool..Ok, name number 1..KBP 810 "REVERB REVOLVER"..Number 2 KBP 810 "BRITISH INVASION REVERB" and number 3 KBP 810 "64 REVERB" Thanks for your help..Scott
schundog Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Verbox Gentle Weeper. Other than that, I got nothing. Whatever you "name" it, I'm sure the amp will turn out great.
Blunote Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I don't know...from what I was reading, the Beatles were using the short-lived 4 and 7 series hybrid (solid state/tube) amps for work on Revolver and some later albums they produced. I'd be surprised if there were any transisters or circuit boards in a KBP amp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vox_(musical_equipment)
Steiner Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 KBP810 PoolVerb In all honesty, I like the Liverpool R better. Nice work Fiddler!
mars_hall Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 You want something short and concise. One word...
Fernando Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I like Number 2: KBP 810 "BRITISH INVASION REVERB".
H Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Scouser. It's the nickname given to natives of Liverpool. Alternatively, how about 'Allerton', the district of Liverpool where George grew up.
H Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 "KBP810 Liverpool R" I think there was a Trainwreck type amp called the Liverpool.
kbp810 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Yep, H is right - while I like the name Liverpool, I couldn't possibly bring myself to use that Scouser or Allerton though... good possibilities there!
Guest HRB853370 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Well, why does it have to have a name? Why not give it a Model number such as KBP-810-VX2000!!!
barrymclark Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 KBP Queen Beetle (just because) KBP Voxy Brown (hehe) KBP Brodie (old British steel sniper's helmet) KBP Willy (prototype British Tank) KBP Tommy (old slang for British soldier)
H Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Yep, H is right - while I like the name Liverpool, I couldn't possibly bring myself to use that Scouser or Allerton though... good possibilities there! Another obscure one from me: Liobian. I am one of these as is George Harrison and Paul McCartney. Ten points to the first person to correctly define it
yoslate Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 George and McCaw, old school chums, eh? Impressive! So George often got the plimmy!?
mars_hall Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Schoolmate at Liverpool Institute? ... if your hands start a-clapping and your fingers start a-popping and your feet start a-movin' around; ... if you start to swing and sway when the band begins to play, a real cool and way out sound; ... and you get the "can't help its" and you just can't sit down - you feel like you've got to move around “
smurph1 Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 So far, Fernando is the only one that agrees with me.."British Invasion Reverb" I have to admit, Allerton is pretty cool though..Man this is HARD!!
koula901 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The suggestions I really like so far: Cavern Club, Have Mersey, KBP Dark Horse. And I'll add one of my own: KBP Mop Top.
FredZepp Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 British Invasion Electro Reverb or the B.I.E.R. amp
