It seems many of the new Heritage archtops for sale by either Jay Hale or Jay Wolfe have trapeze tailpieces.  Does anyone know why the use of the H-end jack tailpieces seems to be on the decline?

the person that used to make them for heritage no longer makes them....that's comming from charlie in the setup room

I've seen several pics where the H's used to be there on the tailpiece. I've always wondered why they were missing. Coming unglued, maybe?

mines solid as a rock,  not glued, but set through holes and soldered, next time I change strings I'll snap a photo.

would still be interested in trading my "rare" H tail piece for a bigsby. ;D ;D ;D ;D

he also said that had been an issue

I had a Super Eagle that had to go back because of the H tailpiece. I had severe vibration on some of the frets caused by the tailpiece. I had a new golden eagle made without the H tailpiece.

I'm thinking of doing that as well, is the bigsby a direct replacement, ie, screws into existing tailpiece holes or are mods necessary. also are you going with the B6 model?

I'm having a mounting plate made to fit the holes. - See this thread: "Putting a Bigsby on my H575"

Also putting on some locking grovers (direct drop-ins) and getting rid of all the gold hardware.
