PAG Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Hi All, this pup was factory installed to my '03 Roy Clark model. Someone can help me to identify it?
DetroitBlues Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Looks to be a Gibson Burstbucker Pro. I had a couple of them, looked just like that on back. Great sounding pickups.
Guest wesmo Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Looks to be a Gibson Burstbucker Pro. I had a couple of them, looked just like that on back. Great sounding pickups. Yep, I believe you are correct.
tbonesullivan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 When did the 57 classic come out? They also have the "PAF" thing on the back. But yes, that's almost certainly a modern Gibson PAF variant.
PAG Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks a lot! I'll check the Burstbuckers, truly resemble. Any other idea?
DetroitBlues Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 You should be able to find the output chart for Gibson pickups. That should help identify the exact pickup. Be sure the pickup you find only has the two wire braided humbucker. Some have a plastic or four conductor wiring....
PAG Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 Thanks it was a great idea! The pup is 8.9 Kohm and since none of the Gibson pups are identical I guess it's a Lindy Fralin PAF...
bolero Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 what makes you think it's a fralin? they are usually labelled
DetroitBlues Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Franlin doesn't have a PAF sticker on it...
mars_hall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Thanks it was a great idea! The pup is 8.9 Kohm and since none of the Gibson pups are identical I guess it's a Lindy Fralin PAF... Due to tolerances, you will never get an exact match, only a range of values for all produced pups that center around the nominal value.
tbonesullivan Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 here is a list that was compiled regarding the DC resistance values of the various pickups from Gibson/Epiphone. Why they can't just put labels on them or something is beyond me. http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/53043-gibsonepiphone-pickups-dc-resistance-values/
DetroitBlues Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Being a that metal braiding, its either a BB 3 or a 57 classic. either way, its an outstanding pickup.
