Dick Seacup Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Anyone ever heard of the Heritage David Paul model? It looks very Gretsch-like, but I suppose that's not surprising, as the ad copy says: David Paul has been influenced by the master himself, Chet Atkins, who has been David's idol since he first heard Chet's album “Guitar Genius" at the age of nine. http://www.jacksonsrareguitars.com.au/image.php?id=1617&type=D[/img] Another odd-ball orphan for Brent to track down!
Dick Seacup Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 Nah, the Kahuna looks like this (I've never seen one in person, and only seen pictures of blue as far as I recall...green is interesting): http://www.jacksonsrareguitars.com/image.php?id=115&type=D[/img]
drewzee87t Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 I got my hands on a kahuna and played it for about half an hour last fall. It was blue. It was nice, but unfortunately it was shopworn. I was tempted to grab it but the shop owner thought it was a trophy and couldn't get him to reality. It needed a setup but was a quite striking guitar with a great feel. Much like a 150 or millie in it's playing behavior. Neat headstock inlay. I don't even know who the kahuna guy is and don't generally go after signature models. The Roy would be the first siggy guitar I ever bought. The kahuna is a nice guitar though, if I could get one I wouldn't kick it out of the music room.
