stacked combo amps do I need to protect tolex from rubber feet?

Do I need to protect the tolex on a combo amp from the rubber feet of an amp stacked on top of it?

 

Should I use an old cotton t-shirt for this purpose?

 

Both amps will be covered when not in use.

Not at all. The rubber feet help keep a grip on the other cab. Putting a t-shirt or other material only invites an opportunity for the cabs to separate and fall....

there won't be any kind of reaction, but depending on the type of covering it is, you may end up with indentations from the feet of the amp on top.
