So what would the going rate be for an 1988 H150?

I know there are a lot of these guitars out there, but it's not often you run into one 24 years old. It has a few scars but nothing major, probably a good 8 out of 10.

So is she still in the 1200 range? If not do they go up or down at this age?

If it has a nice top....$1200 is ok. But it would need to be in really good condition.

Are you buying or selling?

Actually it has dots instead of trapazoids. Does that make it a 140?

No, if it has dots, it is probably a 150 Specia

No, if it has dots it probably is a 150 Special. They dont make them anymore, but they have a thinner rim (by 1/8") and a dot fretboard. They are lighter than a standard 150. I had one in Goldtop and it sounded fantastic. Sold it for $875 last month.

It looks like an H150CM special ordered with dot inlays. I would expect to pay anywhere from $950-$1,100, assuming there's minimal fret wear and no other issues.

Another item to consider is the hardware, if it's an earlier 150 it most likely will have a Schaller bridge and tailpiece and Schaller pickups. Lots of guys like them, and lots of guys don't.

If it turns out they're not to taste a bridge / tailpiece / pickup swap will run to several hundred dollars. A newer used Heritage will have Tonepros hardware and Duncan pickups installed from the factory.

Also neck profiles on older Heritage guitars tend to be slimmer, more recent ones are fuller.

It's likely this one.. I'm familiar with it and have played it.

Value wise... yes , it's Schaller bridge and tailpiece and dots.

On the positive side.. it sounds great with the Schaller pickups and is a first year 150CM with a Gibby cutaway.

The label says " H-150CM ASB"

Rick, you don't need my advice on buying because you have a great collection and I have never seen the guitar is question. But over my 25 years of buying guitars the biggest regret I have is SETTLING for a guitar instead of WAITING for the guitar I really want (either ordering what I want new- which is what I usually do- or waiting for the RIGHT used one).

I am sorry if I am busting a bubble (again, this is not my intention. I have not seen the guitar and maybe this IS THE ONE), but just trying to add some perspective.

Then again, if you plan on buying more than one 150 (hey, I have FOUR!!!!) and this one speaks to you even if it is not your first choice, the GO FOR IT!!!

Very, very good advice!!!

If you are planing on changing out the hardware, pots, caps, and pickups.... then you can add $350-500 on top of the selling price.

Yeah... I'd expect this one to cost a bit less than the asking price... But I admit that I really liked it when I played it.

I do believe that Rick is continuing to search for the right one from some messages that we've exchanged.

Yea guys this guitar really isn't what I'm after. I was asking more from the perspective of just gaining some knowledge of the market.

As far as guitars speaking to me, only one has from a visual standpoint and the dope in Ohio that owns it isn't selling. :icon_salut:

So until then the search will continue.

If you haven't already, there are a couple dozen H150s for sale through dealers on G-base. Some are new, some not.

Or it can be a custom order. I have one that was ordered with an ebony fingerboard for a player in Texas.
