LK155 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I've posted previously to highlight some of the great photographs my son got of my guitars last summer. Finally got around to doing something with the pix........had three of them printed and mounted, and they now hang on my music room wall. Here's the print that has the most visual impact: The monochrome background really makes the trans. cherry stand out. And here are the others.......the large poster of an American Eagle headstock came from PSPIII. Marv was kind enough to give it to me during the factory tour portion. These prints are larger than they might appear above. The two small ones are 13" x 20", and the larger one on the left (the H155 top) is 16" x 24". They fill the space very nicely. Oh, yeah, there are some guitars in that picture as well. Sorry about the orange and black interlopers, but they live here too.
DetroitBlues Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Very cool, I used some of those pictures your son took as background photos. Heritage should use them on their product site.
GASguy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I really enjoyed those pics when they were originally posted. I think my personal favorite had water in the background. You should have your son do another photo shoot sometime for posting here.
TalismanRich Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Those are some fantastic shots. I always liked the one of the laid back Mille. Talk about "waves of amber grain"!
FredZepp Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Great stuff.... A wonderful way to dress up a room with some wonderful Heritage prints. I think that we'd all love to have some of those pics on a wall at home.
Kuz Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 GORGEOUS!!!! And in case I forgot to say (and I MEAN IT) DIBS on that cherry Cherry 535!!! I really want to do a similar idea in my man cave. I just need to spend some time shooting my guitars properly and then having them framed. Thanks for the motivation, Border Band brother!!!!
LK155 Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 Thanks, John. But these prints are not framed. They are Plak'd (or Plaque'd, depending on who does it) meaning pressed onto a composite backing board, then sealed. I requested the prints be done on glossy paper, and the Plak seal layer be glossy as well (instead of matte). Even at 16" x 24", the detail is exceptional. But no frame. All you see of the backing is a small piece of black bevelled edge all around the print. Extremely versatile, fits any decor, no clash with other art that might have frames or borders. (And the H535's going nowhere. Except maybe back to Kalamazoo next August.)
Kuz Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Well, they are VERY classy looking. Nicely done!!!!
High Flying Bird Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 These are nice. I like the mounting.
schundog Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Fabulous, Lyle! Y'know, if that 137 weren't SO yellow, it might have gotten some love, too! haha. I'd hang those ANYWHERE in my house, not just the music room. (I might get voted down, but that's another story...)
bolero Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 wow, looks great!! nice collection of gtrs too....very tasty!!
heritagefan7 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but I think anyone beholding these would agree as to their beauty. Nice gits and beautiful pictures.
LK155 Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Fabulous, Lyle! Y'know, if that 137 weren't SO yellow, it might have gotten some love, too! haha. ......... When we headed out for the photo shoot last year, only two guitars came along. Next time it'll be the others, I promise. I only bought that TV YELLOW H137 because Marg says I'm getting a bit hard of hearing, so I wanted the louder color. Hey, I may not be able to play them well, but I can still dis-play them.
smokedtires Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Beautiful! What a great addition to your music room
