Hey all,

It's fall, and I'm about ready to make my second trip to Jay's and see what they have in stock.  8)  Just looking at the pics on his website isn't enough for me--I must try them out in person.  :o

Must--resist--temptation--to--buy--too--many--guitars!  :D

I was just curious--how many of you have visited Jay's store in person? What did you think?

I'd love to visit Jay, but his store is on the wrong side of the state (for when we're in FLA)!  Get lots of pictures!  Steal me a black switch tip with a white dot! Heck, get me a 575! ;)

The problem I'm going to have, is there are about 6 guitars or so I REALLY want, but, of course, I can't get them all!

So, I need to narrow my choices. I'm going to look at a few H150s, a couple H555s, and a couple H575s. Heck, I may even try out a few USA Hamers while I'm there. I'd also like to "test drive" some Heritage amplifiers, particulary the Briton and Liberty.

He's on the wrong coast for me!  Now I live about a half an hour from Buffalo brothers (if there's no traffic, which never happens) and only make it up there about once a year.  Talk about a GAS inducing place!

BB has some nice guitars on their website, but I can't believe how crooked the truss rod covers are on the anniversary models!  :o How hard can it be to line one of those up anyhow?  ???

Hey! When you're there , can you check out the used Eagle #24702 that they just got in. Never tried an archtop with mahogany body, rosewood board.

LEt me know how it sounds.

Thanks very much

Leave a few for the rest of us!  I haven't made it down to Jays place yet and we usually vacation in the Daytona Beach area every February so I don't have much of an excuse.

Hi. Me again. Forgot to ask if you will be able to try out a 575 mahogany. They have a used one. Wondering if there is a huge difference in sound (eagle - 17x3 inches size + floating pickup) and the 575 Mahogany (16x2.75 inches size + HRW mounted). Both are spruce top/mahogany body/rosewood board.

Here's the deal....I have a custom 575 mahogany on order, but the way things are going these days at the Heritage factory......I don't know when and IF I'll get it. In the meanwhile, there's some deals on ebay and with the used Eagle at Jay's, I don't want to miss my chance to get a used one if my order doesn't come through.

thanks very much

You guys over in the USofA just make me sooooooo jealous all those high end guitars on your doorstep and at realistic prices its a big pond from here in rip off priced Britain!

Here here. The second hand market here is crazy. The shops want to buy for peanuts and sell for top prices but, they all do it because good qualty guitars are hard to come by. I live in Sheffield and apart from sound control selling overpriced Epis there's one guitar shop selling serious guitars.

Check out those prices !!

Thats illegal surely

I am planning on heading there the weekend of Oct 6th. This is NOT a definite date; just my tentative plan so far.

OK--everyone that wants me to either look at something or pick up something small for them (within reason, of course!) let me know so I can make a list.

crusthunter should fly over from the isles and go with you.  He could take a nice carryon case with him for the ride back.

Ooh.  Pick me up a white/black dot HRW switch tip...and make sure there are some gold HRW pickups attached please.  :)

Serously, enjoy your pilgramage.  Tell Jay and Graham 'Tim' says hello and I love my new H555!!

But by the time you factor in the air fare (and the $260.00 additional government departure tax) accomodation and food costs and the possibility of 10% import tax plus another 17.5% value added tax on top of that it does not look at all attractive, SIGH

That's some mighty big taxes for a guitar. Too bad big brother makes it so hard for us to enjoy our hobbies and passions.

Well, it looks like my trip has been delayed for a month.  :'( Now, the guesstimated time of arrival is around the first weekend in November. But that's OK; it'll allow me more time to save more $$ for the trip.

OK--it's official: I'll be at Jay's this Saturday. Plenty of guitars/amps to look at. I plan on being there when they open at 10. I'll try to remember to post pics when I return.
