DetroitBlues Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Last Friday, I did some recording with an extremely talented harmonica player. He typically plays his harmonica through a big heavy '59 Fender Bassman Tweed RI, but this time he brought this tiny 1x8 single EL84 tube amp from Hohner. Supposed to be designed specifically for harmonica, but I cannot help but wonder how it would sound with a guitar. Looks really cool with a master volume, tone control, volume, and spring reverb. Add in the XLR output and you have one heck of a lightweight 5W combo amp loaded with a 8" Celestion Super 8. GC wants $305 for it. Doesn't seem to be half bad. From what I heard, it was killer with a harmonica, but I really wanted to put a guitar in it...
barrymclark Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 A+ on the looks! I have been surprised how cool Harmonica amps can sound for guitar.
DavesNotHere Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 That's cool. I'd like to hear what it sounds like. When ever I accidently use the accordion input on my Gibson Hawk everything I play sounds like Beer Barrel Polka
DetroitBlues Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Found these by accident today too... New Pawn Shop Series amps from FENDER!!!!
DetroitBlues Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 Its a rather hefty amp too being a 1x15 combo...
