SouthpawGuy Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 I do seem to be very partial to blondes lately and this one is a real beauty. ! Got this 576 a few months ago. It's a '96 model in natural with matching headstock. The Schaller pickups and hardware were replaced with Duncan P-Rails, now there's a surprise, with the Triple Shot switching mounting rings. Hardware is now Tonepros bridge and tailpiece. The 576 is basically a single cut 535 with a deeper body. It's fairly heavy due to its' size and the floating centre block, the body is 2 3/4" thick. The P-Rails sound great in this guitar, neck sounds very full and fat, wonderful clean tones with lots of sustain. The bridge in P-90 or parallel humbucker mode has plenty of bite, in full series 'bucker it gets raunchy very quickly.
Kuz Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Gorgeous, wow... I always thought that the 576 were very underrated!!!!
schundog Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 WOW! Gorgeous guitar. I guess I didn't know how similar they were to a 535. I'll bet it sounds great with those pickups. Have some fun with that blonde!
Spectrum13 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Wow nice wood. Beautiful. Is the top pressed?
brentrocks Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 That certainly is a a sweet Heritage...and yes, I was very surprised at the weight too....theres a big piece of mahogany inside that baby.
DetroitBlues Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Guess its true... Blondes do have more fun.... Bet you have a hard time keeping your hands off her!
Horace Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Fab. Porn. How'm I supposed to concentrate on anything the rest of the day ? Horace
big bob Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Nice... Love the p-rails... I have them in my 575..
SouthpawGuy Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Thanks guys, it's a real beauty for sure. It weighs 8.2 lbs, not overly heavy at all but heavier than a 575. The top and back are laminated, rims are solid. The scale length is 24 3/4", the 550 is 25 1/2" and the 550 is also fully hollow and half an inch deeper at 3" so they're different animals. And yes the P-Rails are splendid, anything from fat and full to thin and biting with the flick of a switch. 576 specs: ================== H-576 Specs: Neck - 17 degree peghead pitch; one piece mahogany neck; single cream head veneer. 111518 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Very pretty guitar. A 576 has been on my "want" list for a long time ...one of these days I'll luck into the right one. Looks like you already have: congrats.
bolero Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 wowza!! that's beautiful! I had a 576 but had to get rid of it...my hand kept getting jammed in the cutaway trying to access the higher frets was a work of art though, as is yours!! congrats!
