smaj Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Well, it took two months for him to decide, but it is mine now. I'm very grateful to Marty, as he is a great person to work for and he wanted me to have this guitar. I will cherish it forever! Now to save for another 357 I think.
pegleg32 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 It would be great if you would put a picture of this in the HOC picture gallery for further reference. Thanks.
brentrocks Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 OH MAN!!!! that is a fabulous Heritage....congrats!!!!
GASguy Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 What a great guitar that is! I love the headstock and fretboard inlays, and that top is beautiful. Congratulations on scoring a Heritage that will be envied by many.
Hfan Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Is that an autograph on the back of the headstock? Very nice and unique. I see a well worn guitar like that (a true relic) and I wonder about it's history.

When I googled him, it looks like he is a local Chicago blues player. I'll get a picture in the gallery section also.
DetroitBlues Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Wow, that's really cool. Wonder if he played it or just signed the guitar?
smaj Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Wow, that's really cool. Wonder if he played it or just signed the guitar? DB, I wish I knew the whole history of the guitar, but I don't. There is the original Schaller bridge and stopbar in the old Lifton case , but the twostuds are missing as well as some of the string rollers on the bridge. I'll have to see if I can round up some parts for it. Would like to put it back to original.

DetroitBlues Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Best 140 ever. Geez, that's great... There's a couple nice 140's out there from the first years before the 150's... this one is pretty cool...
Joe Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Of all the beautiful Heritage Guitars to be seen here, that is among the best. Is there any more history about this one?
DetroitBlues Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Thanks! Not as nice as your's, but unique like yours...It left the factory in cherry burst though....
koula901 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I could swear I could hear a voice coming from Paw Paw.... "I must have the Precious"! HA HA HA HA! ROFLMAO!
koula901 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I'd say the 140 should be called: The Texas Special.
