schundog Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 A mere 25 hours after Marty Grass informed me that he had shipped the H-150 he just sold me, I was opening the box! I knew I wanted this guitar the minute I saw it listed, but: A: I've already got way too many guitars B: I didn't have the available Guitar Fundage to pull it off I asked MarK to hold it for a day or 2, and he graciously did that for me. I got home from work, took my Gibson Les Paul Classic to the pawn shop, got $200 MORE for it than what I paid for it 5-6 years ago, and pulled the trigger with absolutely NO regrets! The LP was a very nice guitar, but this 150 is breathtaking! Thanks again to Mark for working with me; I've bought 3 Heritages from him now; this 150, my 525, and my Millenium H-155, and all have been great guitars, priced fairly, and delivered in record time. Anyway, you all saw the pics when he had it for sale, but here it is. http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz327/schundog/oldampheads035.jpg[/img]"]https://
schundog Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 Here's Wifey's expression when she saw the Fed Ex truck drop off a guitar.... http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz327/schundog/oldampheads050.jpg[/img]"]https:// Much better after I explained how I had to money to buy it! I'm a happy camper, and since my lazy butt saw this mirror I haven't put up yet sitting on the floor as I opened the guitar case, I snapped this shot.
Gitfiddler Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Wow, it's a lefty too?!! Nice score. I agree, Mark is a class act.
skydog52 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Nice Brian. That was on my radar big time. If business was better we would have had to arm wrestle for it! She is a beauty. Both of them! You are a lucky man!
Guest HRB853370 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Congrats man.I have to admit though Brian, I like the photos of your wife better, even though the guitar is awesome!

Comancheplayer Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I almost went after this one, but after what I learned today I'm glad I didn't (more to come). Very nice guitar, great score!
fxdx99 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 That's a beauty - congrats, Brian. Very nice. And the pickups are...?
tsp17 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Nicely done both of you! I love the VSB 150 LW i bought from Mark. gigged with it this morning, and will again tomorrow night! I just set it down a minute ago working on Oye Como Va. Great Wife photos! LOL. I hope you enjoy your MartyGrass special as much as I do mine.
PunkKitty Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Very, very nice. I'm looking forward to posting a NHD thread after I learn a bit more about them.
schundog Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 That's a beauty - congrats, Brian. Very nice. And the pickups are...? Thanks, Everybody! I've been playing this thing all night, first through my Peavey Classic 30, cranking the "clean" channel into overdrive, then over to the Fender Deluxe Reverb, up around 4-5 to get it to break up, then plugging it into my pedal board to see how the OCD took it (GREAT!) and now it's plugged into, well something else I'll talk about later! The pickups are Lindy Fralins, measuring 8 in the neck and 9 at the bridge. http://www.fralinpickups.com/humbuckers.asp Mark had Pete Moreno set this up, so I'm not changing a damn thing! haha. Seriously, it plays great, sounds great, looks great.. I couldn't be happier with it. Thanks again, Mark!
heritagefan7 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Not enough that you have to flaunt the 525--but now this?---c'mon Dog!!!! ...TOTALLY awesome abt the pawn shop and the new git!!!! (beautiful, VSB is awesome)---BTW, both spouse looks happen at my house too!---I wonder if I look the same way when she has GAS? (General Aquisition Syndrome?) Truth be told---I'm a lot worse abt it than she is--but only abt guitars---and cars---and yard stuff...and so on

Truth be told---I'm a lot worse abt it than she is--but only abt guitars---and cars---and yard stuff...and so on Sorry man! haha. Well, I've certainly had my "issues" with cars, motorcycles, and sailboats, but I currently don't own a boat, motorcycle, and all three cars are older and paid for! I sold my Honda Valkyrie several years back, as it bugged Wifey both from a safety standpoint (I ride FAST!) and a time standpoint; if it was a nice, sunny day, I might want to disappear for a couple hours on the bike, and we had little girls at home that I was missing time with. She was right, (for now) and I sold the bike, much to her surprise. At that time, I told her I intended to use the proceeds from the bike to get serious about getting some good guitars, and I meant it. I haven't regretted that decision since, as I can only ride a motorcycle in Central Illinois MAYBE 6 months a year, and honestly, with the way people are talking/texting on their phones these days, I really didn't feel as safe as I used to.
DavesNotHere Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 That is sweet. Not too flamey. I love that finish!
High Flying Bird Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Here's Wifey's expression when she saw the Fed Ex truck drop off a guitar.... https:// I had to show this to Linda. We had a good laugh about it then she looked at me funny. I guess she thinks I have my eye on one.
heritagefan7 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 ...She was right, (for now) and I sold the bike, much to her surprise... I tried to do the same thing---only mine was a mountain bike that I never roda--a bike which my father in law recently asked if I was using and summarily took home w/ him---and w/ it my few hundred "payback" dollars---My wife accepted it as a sacrifice across the board and thus a new Heritage made its home in SC!
