nicknickhall Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Once upon a time, somewhere near Kalamazoo, there was an enchanted forest where a tinman lives. One day, he posted FS a beautiful guitar, and the word went out thru the land. Far far away in Shakey Land a knight (Knigget) said, "Hmmm, my favorite color, my favorite name, my favorite kind of guitar, me thinks I'll try to win this prize." And here it is folks. And as beautiful as it is in pix it's more beautiful to behold poissonally. It's still warming up from it's long journey, but, I am sooo stoked. I want to thank MartyGrass for parting with it. I want to thank my lucky stars that I saw it right after it was posted and immediately suspended the "one in one out" rule. I want to thank the same constellation of forces that gave me the resources to do it. I have been laid off three times in the last 10 years and i'm not getting any younger. But i'm stll pitching, still showing up, and my little family is doing ok after teetering on the edge of a financial cliff for the last 10 years. As challenging as it can be to live with GAS, there are moments to be celebrated, and i am just digging the shit out of today.
DetroitBlues Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Congrats. That has the cooliest pickguard and trc from any Heritage I've seen... Enjoy!

Gitfiddler Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 It is really the mother of all pgs All of a sudden I have a taste for caramel swirl candy! Can't wait to compare the acoustic volume of your HB 530 to my P90 530.

eljay Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 that git-tar has stirred much lust since its arrival on the scene . . . good for you!
nicknickhall Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 Did I mention a weakness for Amber? This is now my favorite finish.
schundog Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 That's awesome, man. I hope things are on a permanent upswing for you!
H Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Came close to owning that one myself at one time last year but it didn't work out I'm very happy for you - that is THE most amazing Heritage I've seen in a long time. Take good care of it - I might come looking for it one day

Take good care of it - I might come looking for it one day If you come looking, we'll jam! By the way ol' chap, the wifey and I have been mesmerized by "Downton Abbey" lately. I find myself channeling "Carson" and "Lord Wrentham" all the day long. It's a long way to Tipperary...
MartyGrass Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I'm grateful it got to you intact. I note that you are from the same city where Jim Dunlop's enterprise is. By coincidence, I called the folks there this morning.

By coincidence, I called the folks there this morning. They have several shops in the local industrial park. It's a closed operation so I can't drop by. I have to order off the web like everybody else and pay shipping charges even though i could hit their roof with a rock. I'm still representing with my many Dunlop products (CyBaby, CarbonCopy, SuperComp, etc, etc.). What Dunlop gear do you favor?
Blunote Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Wow, beautiful. Craziest pickguark I've seen on any heritage (apart from some pearloid ones posted in years past). Great find. Worth the joust!
nicknickhall Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 I've just now been playing this h530 through my Fender Deluxe. Playing clean, no effects, and i'm getting such great response from these pickups! It sounds better than this amp has ever, ever sounded. So she's not just beautiful. SD Jazz in the neck and a '59 in the bridge. Wow.
brentrocks Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 An H 530 with buckers? I bet that is a beast!
nicknickhall Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 An H 530 with buckers? I bet that is a beast! Yup. What you said. It's so bright and the buckers just sort of overload the output so it blooms and pops. It's really doin the whole chimey, vintage sound really well. It's a super rich clean, which, is really hard to describe but you know it when you hear it. It is the original clean, the original gangsta' . I've fallen into the hot tub time machine and i'm digging up 40 year old riffs from the garage in 1966.( Paul Revere and the Raiders, Kicks, obscure reference for old guys) The buckers do not disappoint here. p90s are great but I love the output of this rig right hyah. I really couldn't be happier. This has been one of the funner days of my life.
nicknickhall Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Congrats. That has the cooliest pickguard and trc from any Heritage I've seen... Enjoy! Because, if you are going to mess around with a pickguard on a Heritage, the standard is way high to begin with. Just sayin'
