How many of your Heritages is the HOC responsible for?

Lunching with Spectrum13 today, and we were conversing about the impact that the HOC has has over the years on sales of Heritage guitars (both new and pre-owned). So we decided that it was only right to poll the members about how many Heritages they would have if the HOC never existed and how many Heritages they now own as a direct result of being a forum member.

In my case:

1 Heritage pre-forum

6 Heritages post-forum

Therefore, the forum is responsible for me acquiring 6 additional Heritages. At an average price of $1,500 each, I could be $9,000 wealthier if I had never joined the HOC!

It's a little difficult for me to tell for sure because I have the privilege of jamming regularly with fxdx99 and TonyM.

If there had been no HOC, I suspect I might have gotten a Heritage just because of them.

But I was a forum member before I got my Heritage and the HOC certainly did provide supporting information.

PSPIV helped a lot too.

So in my case:

0 Heritages pre-forum

1 Heritages post-forum

I am sure we've had a significant impact to both new and used (though it's the "new" part that Parson Street really enjoys!) - plus I think many of us spread the word of good Heritage Cheer well beyond even the realm of the HOC itself

I had 1 pre-HOC, and 7 that have spent time in my home since (most have came and went though as I was trying to intern for Brent)

155 (Millenium): Bought from Marty Grass (then mgoetting)

525: Bought from Marty Grass

150 W/ SD Custom Customs: Bought from Shook 494

150 W/ Lindy Fralins: Bought from Marty Grass

The H535 I got before joining I purchased off ebay. The first one I got after joining was a used H150CM down at Wolfe's. Second after joining was the Millie I bought from Martygrass. 3rd was the Blue Kahuna bought off ebay.

For now, I think I'm done getting guitars. I already have the double cut set neck thing covered with my Hamer guitars, and the Gibson SGs. I don't really have an interest in Jazz boxes either.

Hmm...

I am not completely certain, but I think I owned just one Heritage prior to joining the forum. Have purchased 22 of them in the past 18 months, have 14 of them left.

And one particular forum member, unnamed, smokes fine cigars, builds fine cables as well as fine cutting boards, got you interested in a custom natural finish 575-soon coming?

I owned two, 550 and 535, before I found the forum. Since then I've added two from ebay, and have one "on hold" through a forum member until I get back. So, one directly through the forum, and certainly the discussion/information/photos on the forum influenced my purchase of the two others.

I certainly hope HOC has an overall positive influence on perceptions of Heritage. Good forum, good folks, good discussion, good guitar.

3 post HOC, 150 from golferwave, 525 from brent, 555 from PSP1.

The 555 is of course directly tied to HOC. No HOC, no PSP... no 555.

I think if Jack posted a picture of his entire collection, it might look like a wall of guitars at Guitar Center....

2 Heritages pre 1 post.

I had a Super Eagle and a Ed Roman eagle (spruce top Mahogany back sides and neck) before I joined.

After I joined I sold the SE here on HOC and procured an H-150 GT W/p-90's but I also received a Fender champ (`76) that I modified to a 2x10 combo and use on all my small gigs, turned up to 10 of course. I hope to get an H-150 with humbucker one day and an H-550 too from HOC but that day is far away.

For me, it's a case of 2 and 2 + 1.

I got my first Heritage, the 157 in 2003. The 535 came a few years later, right around the time I found the HOC in 2008. I was looking at the semi hollows but not because of the HOC.

Brent had the Mille LE, and I had been looking for a 140 for a while. It just took time to find the right one at the right price, but it didn't come from an HOC member.

Then there's the amp... I would never have known about Heritage amps if it wasn't for the forums.
