Guest HRB853370 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I cant wait to get it, er, I mean hear it!! What amazes me is how Brian manages to crank these out so fast. And still keep his day gig!
FredZepp Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Damn, that's nice ! The tweed ... and those retro knobs.. cool look. What does the "cut" control do?

pegleg32 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Very nice looking amp, I haven't heard of that speaker before so I'm interested in what you think of it?
smurph1 Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Cool looking amp!. whats the ETA? Monday I hope..Brian PM'd me a couple of clips of Josh (Detroitblues) playing it..It sounds Great!! But I don't know how to cut and paste the files over here so ya'll can hear it!
smurph1 Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 According to Brian the Scumback has a very Voxish type vintage British tone..

DetroitBlues Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3272872/CC%20Test%205.mp3 All three were recorded with no pedals using KBP's 157 Custom.
DetroitBlues Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 My apologies for the sloppy playing... Didn't have a lot of time... Bonus for anyone who can guess two of the three songs I was playing.
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I never heard of scumbag speakers before. Interesting name. Shundog should have gotten a Scumbag in his!

kbp810 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I never heard of scumbag speakers before. Interesting name. Shundog should have gotten a Scumbag in his! Scumback, lol - they are essentially "boutique" Weber speakers; they are made to be spot on replicas of the pre-rola era celestions

tulk1 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Damn, that's nice ! The tweed ... and those retro knobs.. cool look. What does the "cut" control do? I dunno..I guess I'll find out.. A Cut Control cuts the Highs. The more you turn up the dial (more cut), the less highs you get. It's a Vox thang! Nice amp, Papa! Good choice going voxish.

Good choice going voxish. I was guessing that might be it... I've never had that on an amp. It cuts a higher frequency than the Treble knob?
kbp810 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 It cuts highs at the power/drive section of the amp - so it has a little bit of a different effect than the Treble knob in the preamp
