Tell me why I should get one of these. One is local here for 1075 obo. I was leaning towards a bucker, but since hearing mick ralphs played a JR i might change my mind.

If you need to be sold on it, then, maybe you shouldn't buy one.

a 137 is a Sex Machine , like the Godfather . After owning one for a short time now ,I can share these thoughts . It has total access to all the upper frets with total ease . It has a very comfortable neck width and radius that plays like butta . I personally love a P90 , it's raunchy and rockin and powerful . Not to mention it's good looks . Depending on condition , case etc etc that seems like a very fair price .

Don't buy it if you need a guitar to look pretty, blingy, etc. It is an unashamedly plain-looking piece of equipment that screams Rock and Roll when you want it to, but has very sweet tone when you are looking for THAT. More versatile than it's looks belie. Mine has Lollar P90s, which aren't silent, so if that's a dealbreaker for you, find out whether the pickups in the one you are looking at are of the noiseless variety. And I agree with others here, that's a fair price, but go play the thing and see what you think! Here I am with Eljay at PSPIV, showing off our sister 137s. Eljay actually got a better price; FREE! He won this guitar in the super generous raffle drawing that Heritage did at the event. Actually, free is a bit of a misnomer; getting the 137 got him so fired up for Heritages, I think he's custom ordered 2 new ones since last summer, haha.

Yeah you can get noiselss pickups, or just buy a decent noise suppressor and you are good to go!! My 2 cents..

haha. My dear departed father gave me his tattered copy of that book when I decided to go into sales, and told me to read it once every year I was in sales. I haven't quite kept that up, but it's definitely a classic! Here's a few nuggets of wisdom from it:

1. The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.

2. Show respect for the other person's opinion; never say "You're wrong."

3. If you are wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.

4. Begin in a friendly way.

5. Get the other person saying "yes, yes," immediately.

6. Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.

7. Let the other person feel the idea is his or hers.

8. Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view.

9. Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires.

10. Appeal to the nobler motives.

11. Dramatize your ideas.

12. Throw down a challenge.

They are all the guitar you need, and nothing you don't. Nothing beats a good old slab bodied LP junior style guitar. the only reason I don't have a desire for an H-137 is that I have two hamer special P90s, which are hamers take on LP Junior doublecut idea.

Here's my 137 plugged into a Hot Rod Delux. It's loaded with Lindy Fraliln dog ear noiselss p90s.

Here's a clip of me and my 137 that shows it's no one-trick pony; it really can cover a lot of territory. H-137 through a totally bitchin' KBP810 Tweed Deluxe!

Hey Katy. Enjoyed all your clips. I'm going to have to keep mine and we can play Gloria together. Bookend guitars!
