Wheel Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I just purchased a STAT and was wondering if anyone here could help me, please. The guitar came without a bridge or machine heads. I have pics on photobucket. It has BGN under the SN. I heard it stood for bargain and was not to be sold to the general public. I was wondering what would be the reasons for the stamp? I was wondering what bridge came on this guitar and judging by what looks like an aftermarket routing job, what they might have replaced it with. Also, the replacement machine heads that I have don't quite line up with the screw holes on the guitar. What machine heads came with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. mars_hall Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 The stock tailpiece is a Kahler 2300, as I recall. There could be any number of reasons for the guitar being declared BGN. Stock Machine heads are Grovers
big bob Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I believe it probably came with a kahler flyer.. who knows what the rerout was for, maybe a kahler 2300 trem or 7300 stop tailpiece.
Wheel Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 Man, you guys are fast. Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll ask around and see if I can find someone with a 2300 bridge around here. It did not come with control cavity or truss rod covers. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know where I could find replacements? Thanks again for the help. Looking forward to getting this thing up and running.
big bob Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 You would probably be better off buying blanks from stewmac and cutting them yourself..
DavesNotHere Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Hi Wheel, Did you get the one on ebay last week? I was in on it up to $350 but since I already had one I dropped out. Here is my mine. It's all original.
