Guest HRB853370 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 My Sweetwater consultant was talking to me about RODE mikes, telling me that they were good bang for the buck. I am currently using an el cheapo CAD condensor mike that I scooped up from AMS a few years ago for $69. I realize that mikes are as diverse as guitar pickups.
kbp810 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Depending on the model, I've generally heard good feedback on Rode's - as in good mic for the money You may want to check out KAM Microphones as well - they seem to have a decent following under that same category.
bolero Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Rode makes excellent mics I have an NT4 I bought initially to use for recording live concerts/shows...it's a stereo mic however it is also killer for acoustic guitar ( a lot of people use the NT4 on acoustics, setup near the 12th fret ) and...they also work very well as overhead drum mics!!
JeffB Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I have an NT3. Good mic. I like it for acoustics and more breathy(?) type vocals(hit and miss) when recording.
