BMAY210 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Hello Heritage Owners. I am the proud owner of what I believe to be a Hertiage Stat. However, I can not find a serial number anywhere on the guitar. Also it does not say the Heritage on the headstock, or anywhere else for that matter. I received the guitar, used, as a birthday present in 1996. I'll post pics later, but does anyone know how I can identify this guitar?
mars_hall Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Have you looked for the inside label on the control cavity cover?
BMAY210 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I have not. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject, but how would I go about finding such label?
mars_hall Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I have not. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject, but how would I go about finding such label? On the back of the guitar is a cover for the controls. Unscrew it. A label is usually on the inside telling what the guitar is
BMAY210 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Ok, so I opened up the cover on the back and found the label. The serial number is C13503. Do I have to upload pics through photobucket? Or is there an easier way?
FredZepp Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Ok, so I opened up the cover on the back and found the label. The serial number is C13503. Do I have to upload pics through photobucket? Or is there an easier way? That's the best way... they will show up full size. click the add image icon , then just paste the address of each pic in the box .
BMAY210 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I figured out how to attach some pics. What do you guys think? Any idea of a value? Thanks in advance!
mars_hall Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I would guess that it has had a neck repair. That would be the reason for the extended stinger and no serial number during a paint-over of the area
BMAY210 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 That is kinda what I figured, but I really dont know much about guitars in general. How much does the repair affect the value? Does anyone know a reputable dealer or shop in the San Antonio area that could look at it?
FredZepp Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Does it say anything on the front of the headstock? ..
BMAY210 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I don't believe so. I have pics on my computer, but I'm posting from my phone right now. There is a large gold colored plate screwed down.
FredZepp Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 With the brand logo gone and the headstock repair.. I'd guess that it would sell for $500 - 750 on the used market.
DetroitBlues Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 If you're selling it, you can post it here on the HOC under For Sale/To Buy section.
