bolero Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 made an interesting discovery today ( may be old news to some ) I had noticed that vintage les pauls had toggle switches that sat lower on the top than my H150, but never thought much about it... recently I had to replace a broken toggle switch on my H150, the stock unit looks like this: http://www.stewmac.c...hes/i-1217.html I got a replacement les paul style toggle switch that looks like this: http://www.guitarele...p-Les-Paul.html but the threaded collar wasn't tall enough to fit through the maple top...I couldn't figure out how the toggle, which was obviously from a LP, was going to work!! it would barely fit thru a plastic strat pickguard !! well I found out when they were building Gibson guitars, they just used a pre-existing switchcraft toggle part, and used an insert to make it fit thru the maple top. now that guitars are big business, they have come out with a part that fits properly, with a taller theaded collar to allow for the maple cap on a H150/Les paul ..so this is the little collar you need to get, if you end up using a switchcraft toggle: http://www.guitarele...hes-Nickel.html anyway I hope this is useful for someone who needs to replace a toggle switch oh, and another thing...on the switchcraft toggle, the ground & signal connectors are at different ends than the Stewmac/Heritage toggle
