paul144 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 This went from Brent to Greg, and now to me (I just missed buying it from Brent)...I replaced the Schaller bridge & tailpiece with an ABR. It has Schaller pickups which in all honesty sound fantastic in this guitar, not so much in my 140. Also got rid of the clunky Grovers and put on Grover vintage Klusons. Its nowhere near the 7.25 pounds it was advertised at, came in at 8 pounds 4 ounces. A lot of 335s coming into my shop lately are in the 9 pounds! But its down a little under 8 lbs now with the lighter hardware, which is good for my old back. Very cool color, sets it apart from all the wild flame tops I've been seeing lately. I missed my last 535 and this is very cool! Gave it a fret dressing and a good setup with 11's. Plays smmoootthhh... Just have to notch the bridge saddles tomorrow.
Spectrum13 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Very tasty. Like the tuners, knobs and ABR-1. Looks 335ish.
schundog Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Congratulations! Black 535s look dangerous and cool. Enjoy it!!

FredZepp Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 nice one !! And yes.. sometimes the schaller pickups work just fine in the right guitar. Nice tweed case too...

paul144 Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 actually more of a technician, I reserve the term "luthier" for someone that could build me a guitar out of a log! But check my website if you want... www.MyGuitarER.com
blueox Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Congratulations! The H-535 is a guitar for all genres.
